Overall, we are delighted with our pool. We did build it in the midst of the Covid 19 lockdown, so the experience we had might have been due to that. I must say that the team at Island Pools was not very conversant with us. We never really knew when they would show up, sometimes it was a 3 weeks not seeing/hearing from anyone. I did tend to email and text quite frequently as to what was happening next in the process and RD was very responsive albeit short and terse at times. But that's OK. I know that they were extremely busy. We did have some stucco damage that they repaired but I had to keep it in their minds constantly. It ultimately was fixed to my liking. The pool was beautiful, but as time went on (about 5 years), we had a problem that another company said was due to pool workmanship by Island Pools. A rust spot developed and is growing on the side of the pool. RD has been unreachable by phone or email. We now have to find another company to fix the problem. I wish I would have found a review like this before I spent so much money on my new swimming pool. We went with RD because of how receptive and accommodating he was to what we were looking for in our pool. Initally the process was stress free and although we did experience a few issues in the end we are completely satisfied. RD was a man of his word and, after some persistence, took care of our concerns. The main issue had to do with our pool finish; we had hydration spots that never went away even two years later. I had some difficulties getting in touch with RD because of how busy he can be but ulitmately he addressed the issue and we just had a new finish completed on our pool. The pool looks amazing. Through this process I still continued to recommend Island Pools to anyone who asked. His reviews were universally positive. Having said that, keep your expectations realistic: it's construction in an outdoor environment. Weather and backups will happen. Island Pools also gave us the best price by far, and he was the only guy who would do the pool, spa, fire pit and pavers in one job price.
