Their racket is to overdesigned a plan so they can charge for revisions. They did not create a plan for us with our project goals & budget in mind. > They were very unprofessional, unresponsive with communication & untimely with meetings and the final plans. They overcharged us and would not provide a credit. Even after they took our money, they did not provide the correct plans to us for over two weeks. I can't believe they are allowed to conduct business in the manner. I am very happy with their ability to take our concepts and translate them to design. Very happy with their newest addition, Alex. Very competent, personal and professional. I particularly appreciate their ability to work with our selected builder, Ceci Bates Custom Home. Very happy to recommend them. **★ — Zane Burkhalter, Feb. 2021** > UNPROFESSIONAL AND UNETHICAL > Kim sold us on her ability to work together with the builder to keep us in budget yet after 3 months of design and 5 months to get a bid back we were 60% over budget. She then claimed that the lumber price increases were to blame but that is not the case here. 60% over budget was a direct failure on her part to not live up to what she promised in working together with the builder. She did not work with the builder whatsoever or we would have been much closer. At no point in time were we told that we were trending to be over budget much less 60% over. That would be a total redesign and does resemble the house that we spent so much time designing. I am not sure why we were strung along with something we could not afford as the builder admitted to knowing it was well out of our price range as well when we received the bid set. If they would have worked with the builder as they said they did they would have suggested a redesign or directed us as they said and we felt comfortable with them help us through it. It doesn't make sense or add up I cannot explain why they would provide such bad service and not do what they said they would do. Everything sounded good at first but the end result is a set of plans we cannot use with a lot of wasted time and money as we have to reinvest in a competent designer to handle the our project that we gave to them in detail and our budget and quick timeframe was a strong factor. The plans we received were good looking and detailed but the square footage breakdown legend is not easy to read as they contract with foreign Architects. We were regularly delayed a week because the builder we were working with "pulled them off of our project to work on something else." That is not a work fuzzy feeling being told that your project is less important and to regularly receive delays. I know of another clients of theirs that have experienced similar delays because they did not check with he county to determine the size of house they could build on their lot--which is step one in the design process so they have wasted time with designing something too big for the lot and are redesigning. The previous owners actually just done a lot of work on the kitchen, but it seems like it is missing something. The backsplash and floors are new. The cabinets are in very good shape.
