No accountability. No professionalism. No oversight of subcontractors. > > 330 sq ft remodel started sept 2018 that took 6 months and I finally just couldn’t face having them enter my home. The only unknown delay from my home was 4 days when my upstairs neighbors tub was leaking. The rest is all pro.com incompetence. > > Project managers don’t read plan and blindly send the bottom of the barrel subcontractors that agree to work with them. > > Electrical, only permitted and inspected 5 months after the work was done and only at my continued request. They tried to hide they had never done that for 2 months. The original work done by a subcontractor wasn’t properly grounded in the breaker box, they did no connection protection for aluminum to copper wiring, and more. They left my home and all my condo neighbors homes ask risk until I made sure it was corrected. Installed my thermostat upside down, subcontractor told me I didn’t understand, i do read and know when numbers are upside down. Put a can light in ceiling I didn’t want, when I said that’s now what I asked for the subcontractor told me his boss makes those decisions. > > Left me alone to tell a subcontractor I was unhappy with their work. The subcontractor then yelled at me AND was brought back in my home after that with the PM knowing he had yelled at me. > > I had subcontractors tell me they were just waiting out the clock and they weren’t making any money on my job. > > Floors done twice because only I fought them. Per Dave O the floor had to be redone but he installed a floor and I had to pay for it twice. > > Hung my cabinets so they couldn’t open and close, also cause $2,500 of damage to the exteriors. > > Had a carpenter out that hung the new doors but refused to install the hardware(knobs). > > Failed to properly vent my dishwasher when they installed my cabinets and the dishwasher which cause me to have to repair now. This has caused me to have a wall cut open to repair rather than remove my cabinets again. > > Damaged my cast iron tub. Said they would fix, my follow up in June has gone nowhere. > > Shower tile, for my shower walls to completely redone. At the end I was told to tape well and paint over my grout if I wants clean lines. > > As for project management. Donovan has no professional decorum. He insults other clients in front of clients. Are you the idiot in Lynwood that bought property without checking the zoning? Or are you the couple that fights until the wife decides the men are right? He also actively insults subcontractors work in front of clients and other subcontractors. He doesn’t respect your time by spending hours talking at you. When my shower had to redone a 3rd time, he complained about his life “why me” when I was facing a 3td week of not having a shower or bath in my home. Did you know that they had someone quit with one week because their company is a disaster; or that their internal inspector is a moron; more does Pro.com know Donavan speaks this way to clients. > > Both Donovan and Dave O promised to have professional cleaners out when done, this was never done. They actually never finished the job, they just quit showing up and no final walk through was requested. I was also promised to be compensated for the hours I spent cleaning because even they didn’t bother to protect my home, never put protection down on my nw floors, never removed their shoes, and essentially disrespected me and my home every time they entered it. > > They do not properly track billing, I always had to have it corrected. They also bill for material they had to pay the subcontractor directly, permits they never got, materials never used. > > Everyone one involved Dave O, Donovan, Al, Nik, Ryan and the others I never met, failed on this project. We started work with another contractor who was not reliable, and after that experience, we really wanted someone consistent. They were great communicating during this project, which was important because since several clarifications on the scope were needed after things were in process. We highly recommend him. Our experience was very good. > Because the bathroom plumbing was below the sewer line, we needed an ejector pump to connect to the sewer line which required extra plumbing. We felt that he hired good subcontractors (plumber, electrician, tiler, asbestos abatement) and his crew was top notch. Yes, his bid was a bit more than our other quotes; but in hind sight, it was definitely worth it. They were on the job almost every day until the project was done, which was completed on time. They were cognizant of the mess, putting down protection over tile and rugs, and cleaning up as they worked. They handled all issues that came up during the job without added dollars. My wife and I had this huge idea of renovating 2 small bathrooms and a new outdoor kitchen with a huge covered deck. > > Here is our story: We moved to Seattle to work for Amazon. We were excited about buying house and doing some renovations. We got 3 bids. Two local established contractors and Pro.com. all said they can start work within a week. Pro was about 5% cheaper and they said they can start work within 1 week. The Sales guys handed over us to the project mannager (1 of 3 PM’s we had) And this is were the nightmare started! > > Work Start time: 1.5 months after the promised start date > > Demo: They Demo 3 times with no PM to tell the company the scope of the work. I had to put down Floor protectors and clean up myself. They put ramboard on the stairs but thats it. > > Selection: We wanted high end selection that takes 4-8 weeks for delivery. They did not order 1/2 of them... that was in June and it’s January and still waiting on the last selections. > > Subs: roughing the electical and pluming was on time, But after that all hell broke lose. Subs might show up or might not. > > Quality of work: Window didn’t fit, tile guy blame the drywall guy, drywall guy blame the tile guy, I still have a toilet in my hallway and it’s been there for 1.5 months becuse it was not installed correctly, much much more to issues..... my brain hurts to list it all. > > Conclusion: we signed with Pro.com mid-May and now it’s January. We canceled the Deck and outdoor kitchen. They came in and removed all the old knob and tube wiring, making numerous lighting upgrades throughout the house. This was no small task as the house is all lath and plaster. They were able to install new can lights throughout the main floor without needing to replace the whole ceiling saving us thousands. > They helped us to make some minor structural changes opening up low clearance on our stairs. We also painted throughout the house. With a 100 year old Craftsman there was a lot of detail work (crown molding, wainscoting, etc) and it came out fantastic. They were able to help us repair our fireplace and bring it back to working order as well as update the look of it by re-tiling over the hideous painted brick. The kitchen was more cosmetic updates (painting the walls, cabinets, new backsplashes, new floor, new sink) and it came out exactly as I wanted. They wrapped the project up by refinishing the floors and installing new carpets. When it was all said and done they did a fantastic job, came in on-budget, and on-time.
