The remodel included removing a kitchen wall to achieve an open concept layout, and building a new and large kitchen island. We could not be more pleased with the result. > The carpentry was outstanding. KBF had to remodel the kitchen with a mix of old and new cabinetry. The fit and finish is amazing, you can't distinguish new cabinets from old. > The scheduling of the work was painless. KBP automatically dispatched the required sequence of estimators, carpenters, plumbers and counter specialists. We never had to complain about work not done. > I was especially impressed by the quality of project control. As usual, we had change orders. However the KBF standard is that updated drawings, and firm prices, be in place and agreed before the change order proceeds. Nothing happens "on the fly". When we first bought our home a year ago, the kitchen was the darkest and weakest part of the house. Now, thanks to the design folks and all the crews at KBF, it is another beautiful part of our home! > Our salesman Brian started us on our adventure and worked with us to come up with a totally functional and gorgeous design. Bill, our site supervisor, kept everything on track during the demo period and on through the reconstruction time. If we had any concerns or questions, Bill was quick and eager to resolve whatever the issue was. We thought the initial quote including standard quality materials and labor was a little high so we started digging. There was nothing wrong with the standard fixtures and tile included in their quote, but it was not exactly what we were looking for. We agreed that we would find and purchase the materials ourselves and negotiated to have KBF take care of the installations. The cost for the project coordination and labor was not the cheapest, but the time and effort we saved on finding, screening, and scheduling reliable, competent tradesmen to do the job turned out to be well worth it. Working with Todd and Sean and the rest of the staff supervising the project at KBF was a pleasure. We have two dogs and we both work so managing the schedule for the subs coming and going required considerable communication and coordination. No problem! KBF kept track of the job progress and communicated with us regularly to schedule the trade subs every step of the way. They answered every call and bent every effort to accommodate. Courteous and professional front to back. When there were a few minor issues with workmanship, they were not at all hesitant to have the tradesmen return and make the fix - no questions asked. Their quote will not be the least expensive one you receive but trust me they are definitely worth the extra money. The quality of workmanship is the best I have experienced and I have done a lot of remodeling in the past. I couldn’t be happier with the finished product of my bathroom remodel. I want to point put some of the little things that I believe set KBF apart. After the salesman has been to your home to measure and you have been to the showroom to select finishes, KBF will send another specialist to your home to do final measurements and make sure everything will work together correctly. When the work begins you have specialists in every area, so the tile guy is not doing your plumbing and the plumber is not installing your cabinet. All of this work is supervised by a “construction manager”. This person was in constant communication with me and was able to answer any question I had. When you have a lot of contractors in and out of your home, there may be miscommunications, but KBF avoids all that by having a blueprint with all the details of the project visible in my home. I also want to mention that they were extremely respectful of other areas of my home. The tile from the front door to the bathroom was covered and remained that way until everything was complete. Another customer service feature that I absolutely loved was that the office called every night between 5 and 6pm to let me know who was coming the next day, what they would be doing, and exactly what time they would be there. No one was ever late. Anyone who has had any work done in their home knows how unusual that is. Lastly, I want to mention that I had painted my entire house and that quote included the removal of the wallpaper and repaint of this bathroom. In hindsight, I should have let KBF do that as well. Anyway, the painter did not repair the drywall correctly when he removed the wallpaper from behind the toilet and left a sizeable hole in the wall that he painted over. When KBF came back in to do their final walk through they noticed the area and immediately sent in their drywall person to fix it. I explained that it wasn’t their issue and I would deal with the painter, but they wanted me to be happy with the job. I don’t know of any other company that would do that. Just so everyone understands, my job was not huge. In total it was under $3500, which in my opinion speaks volume about KBF. **★★★★ — Barry Aronson, Feb. 2019** > I had a major kitchen remodeling by KBF about ten years ago.
