**★★★★★ — Ann Parsons, Dec. 2016**

> We highly recommend Rebecca Melo, designer extraordinaire, for designing your dream space. Rebecca is patient, knowledgeable, knows what works best and is a dependable true professional. We would have made some costly mistakes if we did not have the benefit of her counsel and advice. She is exact, meticulous, and most importantly, not afraid to say "no" to a bad idea. She cares about her clients and treats the project as if it were her own. We have had the pleasure of having Rebecca design our entire home, including but not limited to cabinets, for our Basement, Kitchen, family room, all bathrooms and laundry room complete with a custom doggy shower. When renovating an entire home you need a professional you can trust and Rebecca rose to the occasion and never disappointed us. I would recommend her for any project, big or small. Thanks Rebecca for making our dream home a reality!!

**Comment from Rebecca Melo:**

> We are extremely happy with our beautiful kitchen. Rebecca was very professional, spent the time with us giving us expert advise. the renovations were done on time and in a very short period. We believe that the cost was very competative and we got more for what we spent. The selections were great that they offered as well.
> Again Thank You Rebecca

**Comment from Rebecca Melo:**

> Thank you so much! I love what I do and take great pride in creating both a beautiful space and a happy client.

## Community Q&A

**Q: Cabinet make and color?** *(in Photo Questions)*

Love the modern look. Have been looking for something like this for a long time. Can you share the color? Some pics of this kitchen look darker but I do like this color.

A: The cabinets are a custom design and build from our shop in St. Catharines, Ontario called Cabinet Works Plus. I am the designer that had the priviledge to work with this client and together we were able to bring their love of mid-century modern and more rustic peices together in this clean contemporary design. There were two colours used in this kitchen, both Benjamin Moore inspirations. On the banquette we used "Gray Mist" (CC-80) and on the banquette we used "Dolphin" (AF-715).

**Q: Cabinets** *(in Photo Questions)*

What is the cabinet color please?

A: The colour is Benjamin Moore's Cloud White.

**Q: What color of grout was used** *(in Photo Questions)*

What color of grout was used

A: It was a charcoal grey grout to pick up on the beautiful Soapstone countertops. Because the tile was a hand-made look with a less than perfect edges, we also wanted to enhance this feature of the tile. If we would have gone with a white grout you would miss that character feature, one of the things my client so loved about the tile we selected.

**Q: GREAT TOWEL BAR!!!** *(in Photo Questions)*

I have been looking for a very long time to replace my double bar towel rack and have yet to find one that interests me, but I really like the one shown in Fern's bathroom. Can you please provide me with the manufacturer and model name/number, and if possible a website as I need to know if it can be shipped to Canada. Thanks! MCW

A: The towel bar is from Restoration Hardware. Moen also has a number of double towel bars that tie into their faucet lines. Hope that was helpful.

**Q: Cabinet paint finish?** *(in Photo Questions)*

What paint finish was used on the cabinets?

A: The paint finish is a professional lacquer based paint applied in our spray booth. The colour is matched to Benjamin Moore's Cloud White.

**Q: Is there molding under the soffet or is it part of the cabinet?** *(in Photo Questions)*

Would you use the same molding on other cabinets if there was no soffet?

A: If there were no soffit or bulkhead going in, then it would depend on whether we were doing full height cabinetry or leaving an opening above. Typically in a contemporary kitchen, mouldings would be at a minimum. If the cabinets were going to the ceiling, you could leave a shadow line and forego the moulding or I prefer to use a moulding that is either stepped back as in this situation to create a shadow line and to eliminate a dust catch area or do a moulding that comes out flush with the cabinet doors. If the cabinets have no bulkheads or have a space above, I might not include a top moulding to keep it minimal.
