Told them I needed 26.6 sq ft. to do my backsplash(granted, not a big job but I have a large bathroom to do next). Was told the tile comes in boxes of 6.24 sq ft X 5 boxes = 31.22 sq ft. Great, I think, lots of spare for waste. I get near the end of the job and I'm short!????? Turns out the box actually contains only 5.18 sq ft of actual tile. 5.18 x 5 boxes = 25.9 sq ft. Not so great! So now I need to order another box. Just to add insult to injury, the price is now $10.35 sq ft instead of the original $8.75... for the same dye lot no less (in fairness they did knock off 20 points for the box, but still...). Where Ceramic Decor did not have items in stock it was bought in for us within days. Where one small mistake occurred it was rectified immediately and delivered, by courier, direct to our construction site at no additional charge. In building a custom home we shopped at dozens of suppliers.
