### Reviews

**★★★★ — Steve, Aug. 2025**

> Closed on a house in 2024. Pathway did an excellent job with the actual construction. In other words, the siding, flooring, tile work, etc. was well done. At the end of the day this is what is most important so I gave them 4 stars. If I was to simply grade the personnel and the business side of Pathway I would give them 2 stars. The CEO of the company was the primary contact up until the signing of the contract. As a result this was the primary personal relationship that was established. I mistakenly thought this relationship would continue in some capacity until the house was completed. In reality I think I heard from him a couple times and only when additional money was required (in some cases for issues out of my control). My second complaint is that any extra dollar allowances that are put into the contract (for potential upgrades to tile, cabinets, carpet, etc) are basically “taken” by Pathway. They do this by claiming the upgrade required the entire allowance without sharing the invoice. They did on numerous upgrades and left me feeling as if I was taken advantage of. When challenged on this they got very defensive and threatening. They know they have all the leverage and they certainly are not afraid to use it to take your money. Lastly, I felt their overall professionalism was unacceptable considering the amount of money involved. For the home buyer this often is a dream home. For Pathway they are just building another house. As a result the overall experience with Pathway’s process was disappointing and unpleasant. In summary Pathway will build you a very good home. However if you want to have an enjoyable experience during the process, take a pass on them.

> We have enjoyed working with Pathway Homes since we opened five years ago. Great company, always making sure to use high quality insulation to create energy efficient home. They follow up with third party inspections, and blower door tests to ensure efficiency in their homes. Great staff to work with very knowledgeable and helpful.

> Pathways did not provide a very great home building experience. My main issues experienced:
>
> 1\) Having to request multiple times for smoking to not be done inside of my new house. First time the project manager suggested I "put up no smoking signs and he doesn't control the workers". (uploaded 1 image as google only allows so many, have over 20 of this though)
>
> 2\) Lack of communication. Asked multiple times to meet with the team and go over concerns and never was set up. Additionally they switched suppliers during my build and tried to offload the additional cost to us.
>
> 3\) Laziness - Multiple times the project manager would change their story to try and avoid fixing issues. Many contradicting answers throughout the process.
>
> 4\) Move in Cleanliness - Before moving in you are charged a line item for move in cleaning. This was done by a single staff member and her son. The basement had so much mud and dust it was difficult breathing while down there.

> Pathway Homes built our house in 2012 and has been nothing but great from start to finish. Pathway is very passionate about making sure you have the forever home you dream of. They are very organized when it comes to choosing your options for your home and makes it an easy process from the start. We were given several options for flooring, tile, vanitys, cabinetry, etc. to choose from or a budget to stay within. The wife loved having the option to choose how the overall look would be. We have lived at our Pathway house for over 5 years now and am very pleased and haven't had any major problems. For the quality, professionalism, knowledge, attention to detail, and price, you can't beat Pathway Homes.

**★★★★★ — Michael Geisert, Jan. 2018**

> I have enjoyed doing survey work for Pathway Homes for more than ten years. The staff there are both friendly and professional. Pathway Homes makes the extra effort to insure every house is properly located on the property to avoid potential problems while keeping the client's personal interests in mind.

**★★★★★ — Tonia Anglin, Jan. 2018**

> We purchased a beautiful spec home from Pathway. The quality of our home is excellent and the Pathway staff was great to work with for the very few items that we needed addressed at the one year warranty review. We love our Pathway home! Thank you, Pathway!

**★★★★★ — Carol Reichard, Jan. 2018**

> I have worked with Pathway Homes for several years now and they do an outstanding job. Their designs are great and so family friendly, especially the kitchen, where everyone wants to be! The Design Center makes "shopping" so easy; it's all right there under one roof, to save you time and money. And they make sure the qualify is there.....each and every time.

> I am a salesman for Probuild Lumber in Traverse City and have supplied Pathway Homes building materials for the past 10 years.Gary from Pathway is very particular on the quality of materials he uses on his building projects. In some cases Gary will request a premium product over a standard item because he wants to build a quality house. One particular item of superior quality he uses is the sub floor,he wants a very stiff floor and smooth floor with no bounce.I would recommend Pathway Homes to build your project.

**★★★★★ — Randy Erwin, Jan. 2018**

> I have worked with Pathway Homes as a consultant for several years. They are customer driven, professional, and creative. Pathway has achieved an excellent balance of providing uncompromised quality, exciting architectural design, and substantial included features while remaining affordable. To top it off, they have excellent customer relations and service. Having worked with/for many builders across the country, both large and small, I find Pathway Homes to be an island of excellence in a sea of mediocrity.

**★★★★★ — Chris Girard, Jan. 2018**

> We have insulated a 100 plus homes for this company and we enjoy working for them. They are easy going, have onsite managers and have third party inspectors inspect all our work, they also do blower door tests on their homes when they are done. Nobody gets to inspect their framing more that we do.

**★★★★★ — Charlie L, Jan. 2018**

> Pathway Homes uses quality exterior building products. We are proud to partner with Pathway Homes because of their professional approach to building custom homes. Pathway is a recognized leader in the home building business who keeps up on trending designs and ideas. Working with Pathways is a pleasure and their staff is extremely friendly.

**★★★★★ — Mike Smith, Jan. 2018**

> Pathway Homes is a very respectable company. They take pride in their work and get the job done. We have been fortunate enough to work with Pathway Himes for the past ten years and are always happy to do their work. Looking forward to the next ten years!

## Community Q&A

**Q: What is the price of this home?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: Lisa this was a custom home with many many customized features. The base price for this home actually starts much lower than this, If you would like that information or to meet and look at other plans as well as our process let me know. I am the owner and can be reached at 231-357-1711 or Garyj@pathwayhomes.com

**Q: Do you have details on the fireplace? Is it an insert? Brand? Thanks!** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: I'm not the builder, but it appears to be an gas insert. The reason I think this is bc it appears as though front glass is fixed and is not easily opened to add wood, also looks like the logs are a kit. just my thoughts

**Q: Fireplace tile** *(in Photo Questions)*

Can you tell me the name of the tile on the fireplace,it's so pretty!!!can I get it From you?

A: The tile is available!

**Q: Our new dining and living room** *(in Photo Questions)*

Can you tell me the color you used in this house? Also do you use mostly sherwin Williams paint?

A: Hi, that color is Mega Greige SW 7031 and yes we use mainly SW paint on our projects. This color also goes well with SW status bronze

**Q: Pathway Stanford home** *(in Photo Questions)*

What color paint did you use in kitchen dining room

A: This is Spiced Vinegar from Sherwin Williams

**Q: What good color master bedroom** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: So far have been unable to determine the color, however it is in the family of grey.
