Who we are:  We are an Interior Design Studio.  We help people with all aspects of home and business interiors. Our expertise is in the details.  For some homes we design layout, custom cabinetry and fireplace surrounds.  Other homes we decorate with furniture, window treatments and accessories.  At Collaborative Design our name says it all.   We believe in working with our clients to help them achieve a space that is completely theirs.

What are studio offers:  We have a large selection of carpets, area rugs, wallpaper, fabrics and tile (granite, marble, ceramic), framed art, window coverings, lamps, accessories and furniture from various manufactures.  For example:  Pearson, Hickory White, Bernhardt, Hickory Chair, Stanley, Hooker and other manufacturers.

What are our fees: Our fees vary depending on the type of project and the designer.  Design time spent selecting products purchased through Collaborative Design are not billed.

What difference do we offer from a furniture store:  Value above all is gained from having a designer walk you thru the design elements of scale and proportion. Our staff have worked in the industry, and their professional recommendations to you are based on years of knowledge. We save you money by looking at the whole room as a whole rather than just trying to sell you one sofa - which will happen at a furniture store. Customization, often a project will call for thinking outside of the box and a small design firm can act upon doing something special to make your project unique. We offer many manufacturers, more that furniture stores. By providing options we feel that each person can make the right decision for them.

> I have uses Collaborative Design for my decorating needs since the early 2000's. I have always found them to be responsive and professional and our recent project with them had the same great results. We wanted to do a "final" project that would pull everything in the house together, update now to enjoy before we sell our house in five to 10 years. This entailed painting, removing wallpaper and replacing some key rooms with wallpaper. In the foyer we did Venetian Plaster and glazing of the decorative plaster. The specialty painter also glazed all the decorative plaster throughout my house and made it stand out beautifully.
> We also had new 36 inch cabinetry installed in 3 full bathrooms with new countertops and faucets and mirrors. Light fixtures that were out of date were updated throughout the house Also did a project in the family room that installed a 65 inch TV on our white marble fireplace. This required a mason, electrician and a carpenter here together for a morning to coordinate drilling a hole for the wires needed for the TV installation, electrical boxes and a frame to put the TV wall mount on. The project went smoothly and we now have great TV viewing in our family room.

What size are the tiles? Where were they procured?

A: The tiles are slightly smaller that 8" and were made custom for this project with craftsman out of Chicago that we worked with for this project. We invite you to stop into our studio in Waukesha WI to discuss have something similar customized for your project.

A: Thank you for the compliment. The piece is an original but unfortunately unknown to us as it didn't have a signature. We strive to have a unique selection of artwork at our showroom in Waukesha WI. We hope you can stop in sometime to view our selections.

Where can you get the rug in the dining room?

A: Thanks you for the interest in the rug, we are delighted this room turned out so beautiful. While many of the pieces were purchased new through our firm, the client already owned the rug. A true collaboration!
