**★★★★★ — Robin Baugher, June 2018**

> We used to think professional landscaping was an expense we could live without. After all, we enjoyed gardening; how hard could it be? Well, we found out! We called Craig Bergmann after a particularly frustrating year where nearly everything we planted died.
>
> It turned out our front yard was clay, drainage was bad, and our plants were drowning. Craig designed a series of French drains to solve those longstanding water problems, draining water away from the house and taking pressure off our basement sump pumps. He installed “dry streams” from native river rock, both beautiful and functional, the design flowing naturally from problem to solution.
>
>
> The stunning front garden has a “rivers and streams” theme with trees and perennials flowering in waves throughout the season and stepping stones leading to a quiet pond. A berm in front with a variety of evergreens and colorful trees screens the garden from a busy street and provides a transition to tranquil garden areas. A winding path through a shade garden opens to expansive lake views. And CBLD’s artful plant selections are just as beautiful from inside our home as from the outside.
>
> There are many good landscape design firms. What sets the folks at CBLD apart from others beyond their encyclopedic horticultural knowledge is their breathtaking creativity. They take plant combinations to the next level. With ongoing support from their first-rate garden care experts, the results are spectacular.
>
> No two Craig Bergmann gardens are alike, even in the same space from year to year. They are three-dimensional, layered, textured, colorful art, changing with the seasons and evolving over time. A Craig Bergmann garden is an ongoing source of enrichment and pleasure for those of us lucky enough to live with one.

> I would like to highly recommend Craig Bergman Landscape Design who so beautifully transformed the landscaping in the front of our home. We cleared away almost thirty years of growth and patchy landscaping efforts, and replaced the old with a gracious, low maintenance design that actually allows our house to be seen! It gives me joy every time I look at the new plants, from both the outside and the inside! Each person on the team who contributed to the project was creative, responsive, and responsible, and I can't say enough about how pleased I am with the results!

> I can't say enough about the quality of service, design and plant material provided to me by Craig Bergman Landscape Design Co. Julie Sajtar, my design coordinator, was a great listener, was able to work with my schedule and my budget, neither of which was easy! The level of detail was admirable! The contractors that implemented the drainage, hardscape, sprinkler system, fencing and plant plans were polite and conscientious, and best of all, were attentive to my dogs in the kennels, we had no issues with dogs escaping! I can't wait for Spring!

An upper and lower garden room and stroll garden were redesigned with the key elements of running water, cool stone and shaded areas to preserve the garden’s original intent. A narrow rill connects two pools where water flows from the Upper Garden down to the Lower. Layering of foliage was as important as coordination of bloom times in…
