Pond was the most responsive and the most professional. When they set a date and time to do something, whether to get me my first estimate or to do the job, they delivered. Their price was very reasonable, in fact when I got the final bill I was very pleasantly surprised to see the cost was less than originally given because they needed to use less plywood than originally thought. My final bill was $1,000 - $1,500 less than the next bid. > > Lonnie was the person who came out to meet with me on the first call to give me an estimate. We discussed various options from a few repairs to replacing the entire roof. I also needed the rake board on one side of the house and the attic fan replaced. The 2 other companies discussed the same options, one needed to schedule a different person to come out to look at the rake board, and said the attic fan would be added on later as a separate charge. Lonnie may have conferred with others on his staff (a different person did replace the rake board, and I needed an electrician to properly set up the attic fan). But Lonnie was able to get a proposal to me within a couple of days, I didn't have to wait for different people to come out to see what needed to be done. It was taking several weeks to get estimates from the other companies. I decided to go with a new roof since I would probably have to replace it within a few years anyway. I needed to take care of a leak, so now was the time to do it. Lonnie or someone at Pond Roofing always replied within a short time whenever I sent an email with questions. > > Five men came to replace the roof. They worked very diligently, all were very professional and polite, did as much as possible not to inconvenience my neighbors (I live in a townhouse and my 3 neighbors front entrances are close to mine in a U-shape). I thought this would be an all -day job since the last time I had my roof replaced it took more than one day. They were finished in less than 5 hours, and did a beautiful job cleaning up all debris from my deck, balcony, front and back yard, sidewalks, and even checked the neighbors yards to be sure they had no debris. One of my neighbors commented later about how nice my roof looked. > > An attic fan was installed replacing one that had been there for 15 years or so. Turned out the electric had not been set up properly on the installation 15 years ago (that fan probably never ran), so Pond sent an independent electrician, Butch (Bill Buhl) to take care of that. Butch was great, spent quite a bit of time explaining to me how the fan would work, and the problem with the electric. Access to my attic is through a very small hole in the ceiling of a bedroom closet (good thing Butch isn't overweight). I was very pleased with the work he did, his price was reasonable especially considering the working conditions (small hole to access attic, extremely hot in the attic) and will use him in the future if I need other electrical work in my house. > > Two other men showed up the next day to replace the rake board (something my HOA said needed to be done). They did a beautiful job. After all work was done Lonnie scheduled a time to meet with me to do a final inspection and go over all warranties. I asked if he could take photos of the roof, which he did from a number of angles with close-ups of the flashing they installed, the attic fan, the two vents which he emailed to me. > > Overall I was very pleased with the work done by all the men involved, from the initial meeting, quickly getting back to me when I had questions (I came up with quite few over a period of a couple of weeks), the day of the roof installation, the rake board replacement, the electrical.
