## About

### Houzz Badges

- 5 Ideabook Saves

Connor Restoration strives to provide customers with personal service and a high level of detailed professionalism. Connor Restoration has garnered a strong reputation for restoring historic barns and outbuildings to a working life, renovating and refitting historic homes for modern living, as well as restoring church steeples. Working in partnership with the Preservation Trust of Vermont and Efficiency Vermont, they work to implement new technologies and procedures while remaining true to historic preservation practices.

We specialize in thorough, thoughtful and professional restoration of historic structures. A trade that can by some be considered a lost art, restoration is often an aggregate of various skills not practiced by many carpenters today. Timber framing, to jacking and foundation stonework, plaster and lath to slate roofing, these are a few of the skills we can employ when working on vintage structures.

Coordination of meaningful construction projects is another venue where Connor Restoration plays a valuable role in the surrounding communities. The company provides Construction Management on large projects, working in concert with architects, subcontractors, engineers, offices of public works, planning & zoning, permitting, surveyors, equipment dealers, material suppliers, and relying on local sub-contractors whenever possible, to oversee the project from beginning to end, and to the satisfaction of the client.

Weather it’s resuscitating an 1800’s post and beam barn into new living space or re-roofing a steeple, repurposing an old wood shed into a new kitchen or transforming a classic meeting house into a grand home, Connor Restoration can get the job done.

We also are versed in new construction with a focus on energy efficient homes with details that have a touch of the past. We can give these homes a classic feel with the craftsmanship of yesteryear and convenience of today. So, call or write us to talk about your next project, today.

**★★★★ — Jennifer Cozine, Dec. 2018**

> We purchased a new home and I knew I wanted to have a wall removed. Kelley was great about staying in contact and understood our timelines. He was professional and provided a detailed estimate with great detail on his plans. Unlike others, he really looked at our home before just throughout a number. Which gave me a better understanding that the number would be jump on or be unreal in the end, which it wasn't. He responded to any and all of my questions and kept us informed. He was willing to work with us on details we were looking for and to understand the process.
> Kelley and team, cleaned up and left the area ready for us to move it.
> See attached pictures showing the wall dividing the living room from the kitchen/dinning room. We had someone else come in to sand and fill in the floors from where the wall was removed. Project took about a week from start to end.

**★★★★★ — Timothy Wallace, April 2018**

> Work was done professionally. All replacement wood pieces matched with the existing woodwork so well that it appeared to be original. Very pleased with outcome.

 - Location: Lincoln, VT

 - Description: This quaint cottage nestled in the hills of Lincoln is an 1800’s post and beam structure that had a simple floor plan of a story and a half. At some point in its history, a wood shed was moved to the site and added to this little house. We took this wood shed shell, gutted it and added all new systems including heat, new wiring, plumbing and foam insulation. We then turned the first floor of this former woodshed into a new kitchen and living area. We gave the upstairs a contemporary feel with a…

 - Location: New Haven, VT

 - Description: This was a unique build in that it was once a meetinghouse in New Haven. We moved the main structure from its original location and set it on a new foundation. We designed and built an addition to give this grand home even more living space. Completely gutted, we overhauled this former meetinghouse which including new heating, electrical, plumbing and insulation. A wall of windows was then added to the back wall to take advantage of spectacular views as was a covered screened in porch and majest…
- [Barn Restortation](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/barn-restortation-pj-vj~1226021)
 - Location: Clarendon, VT
 - Photos: 11
 - Description: This barn in N. Clarendon needed attention and a barn restoration after many years of serving as a functioning dairy barn. The haymow floor was falling into the free-stall below; stonewalls were migrating inward and endangering the timber-frame walls above. The old clapboard siding was falling off and sliding doors had come off their tracks and were completely missing. As this was a recipient of a Vermont Preservation Trust Barn Grant, we were familiar with the Secretary of the interior standard…
- [Historic Church Restoration](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/historic-church-restoration-pj-vj~3006849)
 - Location: Wallingford, VT
 - Photos: 5
 - Description: This church steeple originally had a very leaky roof and had the potential of damaging the structure below. The steeple restoration was a two-phase project: We came in on phase one and removed the church steeple pinnacles and crenellations, replaced 8×8′ top plates that were 60 feet up and deteriorated. We then re-roofed the steeple’s two roofs to make it watertight. For the next phase, we rebuilt the pinnacles and crenellations to the original specifications. We then hoisted them into position…
