**Q: "L" shaped floorplan** *(in Building a Home)*

We are wanting to build the Southern Living Farmhouse Revival house plan.  My husband is questioning the "L" shape and he feels that the back wing will feel closed in when sitting on the back porch.  What do you think?  I do not get the closed in feeling at all.

A: Love the plans great layout. Nothing wrong with L shaped homes. Your going love that back patio.

**Q: Ceramic tile separating from wall?** *(in Polls)*

Does anyone know what this is from? Ceramic Tile installed to my bathroom wall is separating from it, literally. My builder was horrible and I fired him but this work he completed before termination. It did not separate until a few months after it was installed and it has gotten worse each day.

A: You need to get tile guy out there as soon as possible before it comes completely apart and falls on somebody. I see the problem but I really need to see it in person.

**Q: Tile vs quartzite** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I love my island quartzite and was wondering whether I should continue it along as a backsplash or put a tile similar to the subway.

A: I would use white subway tile from MSI and gray grout. Hope that helps.

**Q: To change frm wood to ceramic tile?.** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Need advice,thinking of going with a light tile flooring & get rid of the wood. I'd like the wide rectangle pieces, the floor goes from kitchen,dinning area and living room, any suggestions ? Please any ideas?

A: This tile is amazing and looks even better wet!

**Q: What to do with this??** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I have a half wall which separates the front door and the living room. We recently removed the glass blocks. Now the dilemma is what to do with it. On the one side which faces the entryway and front door we just drywalled. Will probably just mud it and paint it. In the other side, the side which faces the living room, we have an alcove. It has wiring to accommodate a light at the top. But what to do with this alcove? Drywall? Shelves? Tile? Any suggestions are appreciated!!

A: OK complete the trim all the way around the half wall. Then put shelves in the void space that is noticeable from both sides equally spaced. on top of the half wall put small column that matches your front porch columns. That should help.

**Q: Any tips for setting up living room/dining room in this space?** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Hi all! 

Been mulling over numerous different set ups but wanted to get some fresh opinions of what kind of furniture/arrangements you would put into this space. Ceilings are about 12.5 feet tall, so it looks a bit larger than it feels in real life.  Fireplace wall (full wall) is approximately 188". Window wall without bum out is approximately 120". Wall with large nonfunctional doors is approximately 177".

Any advice or ideas would be awesome! Thank you :)

A: The problem is space there is no room separation with flooring and ceiling. It needs to stay open but something needs change with ceiling. This is a hard one I love the ceiling you have.
