## About

### Houzz Badges

- Recommended on Houzz

If you have European tilt & turn windows, you already know the challenge: standard blinds simply aren't built for them. They swing away when the window tilts, block the handle, and most require drilling directly into your frame — risking your warranty and your window's finish.

Ashland Blinds was created to solve exactly this problem. Founded by Karla after her own exhaustive search for blinds that actually worked with her tilt & turn windows, we've spent years perfecting a solution built from the ground up for these unique windows — not adapted, not retrofitted. Purpose-built.

Every blind is handcrafted by our European manufacturer, custom-measured to your exact window, and installed using our patent-pending, no-screw attachment system. The blind mounts directly to your frame at all four corners and moves seamlessly with the window — whether closed, tilted, or fully open.

What sets us apart:
• Less than 1 inch deep — fits within the window frame, never blocks operation
• Mounts at all four corners — stays secure and aligned even when tilted
• No drilling — our patent-pending system leaves your window warranty intact
• Handmade in Europe — custom-built to your exact measurements
• Cordless — clean, modern, and child-safe

We serve homeowners in Chicago and across the US, with complimentary in-home and virtual consultations from first inquiry through professional installation.

## Community Q&A

**Q: where to buy split tilt window BLINDS (not shutters)** *(in Windows)*

Hello, about 20 years ago, I purchased 1" horizontal aluminum blinds with split tilt from JC Penney's. The top 1/3 slats can be controlled independently from the bottom 2/3 slats. These blinds were great for our front-facing bedrooms affording privacy while allowing someone inside to look outside while standing. Since they are blinds, the pull cord enables the blinds to be raised, opening the view completely.

Our 20 years old blinds are getting tired. I cannot find a vendor to replace them in kind. Does anyone have any ideas where to find this product?

A: Not sure if you are looking for a different type of shade, but our clients really enjoy the top/down and bottom/up shades. They allow you to pull down the top to see outside (or let light in) and not necessarily have to open the full shade. It may be an idea if you aren't able to find the blinds you were specifically looking for
