### Reviews

**★★★★★ — James Gordon, March 2019**

> Kevin was great to work with. He was very professional, helpful and produced our railings in a timely manner. Best of all the new railings look fabulous and helped us to sell our house quickly. We already have a new project for him at our new house and look forward to his ideas.

**★★★★★ — Dawn Berenato, March 2019**

> Ironfire Railings designed an amazing railing for the inside of our home - all from a sketch I had on a piece of paper. This railing is so unique and one of a kind...... I have gotten so many compliments. The workmanship is beyond any ones's expectations. Kevin kept me informed of the time line of the process all the way until the finished product. Also, the cost of this railing was extremely reasonable.

**Comment from Ironfire Railings:**

> Thank's Dawn, by far one of my favorite jobs to do!

> We hired Kevin to design and build a railing for our newly finished basement. Everything about our experience was first rate. Kevin truly cares about the aesthetic and he spent a lot of time with us working through the design. The quality of the install and the finished railing was excellent. Kevin also "wrapped" the basement columns in patinaed steel sheet. We couldn't be happier with how everything turned out.

**Comment from Ironfire Railings:**

> This was one of my most enjoyable jobs! Thank you!

**★★★★★ — Renee Baldwin, May 2018**

> Kevin’sworkmanship and design was amazing. He designed and installed railings on our front porch steps that were the perfect look for our 1925 Craftsman style home. I would not hesitate to use him again for any future projects! Highly recommend this iron worker! He knows his stuff!

**★★★★★ — Kathy & Joe Destralo, June 2017**

> Kevin Folkman was referred to us for an iron railing by our front door & step. Kevin was very prompt for the scheduled appointment and is very professional!!! He showed me some pictures and then said to discuss with my husband and get back to him. I did that and Kevin gave us a price and within no time the beautiful black railing was installed. We are so pleased with it and will not hesitate to recommend Kevin of Ironfire Railings LLC to family & friends.

**★★★★★ — Anne Dazen, June 2017**

> Kevin made a set of curved railings leading out to my bluestone patio- he does beautiful work! He listened to what I wanted, made suggestions, and always was prompt in returning phone calls and appointments-a big plus!

**★★★★★ — Darla Cassidy, Oct. 2016**

> Kevin Folkman did an outstanding professional job creating the iron railings down my front steps. He was patient, kind and thoughtful explaining the designs from which I might choose along with the corresponding cost of each design. The price was in line with one expecting perfection and durability in the product. I am highly satisfied.
> I would higher him again if I needed more work.

**Comment from Ironfire Railings:**

> Thank you Darla, you are one of the nicest ladies that I have ever met!!!

**★★★★★ — jlmeredith96, Dec. 2015**

**★★★★★ — aecreato, Dec. 2015**

> Kevin installed two iron railings on our patio after we had some new concrete poured and brick steps laid. The work itself is phenomenal. The price was very reasonable, especially for the high quality of work. Kevin is very professional, and the period from initial estimate to job completion was timely. I would highly recommend Kevin.

**★★★★★ — Lori Ackerman, Aug. 2015**

> Kevin was absolutely great to work with from start to finish. He recently completed a new stair railing for us, and it came out perfect. We wanted something a little modern but not overwhelming. He had many examples of what was possible, but he focused in on what we were thinking of and delivered more than we expected.
> He is completely trustworthy and very reasonable.
> I would definitely recommend him to anybody looking to get some stair work done.

**Comment from Ironfire Railings:**

> Thanks Lori. It's always fun doing something a little different!

## Community Q&A

**Q: Newel stain?** *(in Photo Questions)*

What is the stain on this newel post?

A: Kona stain on oak!

**Q: Painted rail color?** *(in Photo Questions)*

Do you happen to know what color paint was used for the railing? Thank you.

A: The color is Matte black powder coat.

**Q: How can we add an rustic mantle or should we leave it as is?** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Going to paint walls a sea salt white and hardwood flooring

A: It looks to me like it needs a mantle. Either a heavily distressed timber or all iron. Iron straps or brackets can attach to the stone. I'm working on one now. I'll attach pics when done but it will be a few weeks.
Kevin, Ironfire railings

**Q: Suggestions to update wrought iron stair railing without replacing?** *(in Design Dilemma)*

We have a split foyer, so stairs are the first thing anyone sees. We had them refinished last year (cherry tread/white rise), but the 1963 hand rail is still there. Because of the way it's attached to the floor, removing and replacing it isn't a good option. Is there any way to give the railing a more modern look... on a budget? I keep looking for decorative pieces to add to plain railing, but I can't find anything. How can I improve the look?

A: That's not very feasable. Best to replace the entire railing if you want a wooden top rail.
