## Community Q&A

**Q: Sink Top** *(in Photo Questions)*

Where can I find this sink top or is it custom?

A: It is a custom honed marble countertop with a sculpted splash. We sourced it from a local fabricator. Any fabricator should be able to do something similar for you!

**Q: Wall color and vanity color?** *(in Photo Questions)*

I love this bathroom. Can you tell me the name of the wall color? And is the vanity a brown? Or black?  It’s hard to tell.

A: Hi April, the walls are SW Mineral Deposit and the cabinet is a medium gray SW Dovetail

**Q: Backsplash** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I need help deciding how to end tile for backsplash in my kitchen.  Should I angle the ends or what?

A: For the first picture I would end the backsplash around the corner with the countertop. I think that will keep it from looking unfinished. And for the second picture, that's up to your discretion. It's such a small amount of wall space that it would look fine with or without a backsplash.

**Q: Kitchen Renovation** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I'm torn between a soapstone counter top or a white marble.  Our kitchen is small but opened. I'm afraid the black soapstone will soak up the natural light.  Our cabinets are a very light gray almost white.  We are also continuing wood floors in the kitchen since our family room is open to the kitchen ( the floors will  stained a medium gray )  please help!  Cabinet hardware and sink faucet will be a brushed gold )  please help!

A: I agree that the soapstone will provide a nice contrast with the light colored cabinets and gray flooring.

**Q: Need help with color scheme for kitchen renovation** *(in Design Dilemma)*

We are in the process of redoing our kitchen.  We have decided to just repaint the existing cabinets, add a new quartz countertop, some sort of back splash and new wood-look tile (Dal Tile Saddlebrook - Farmhouse) flooring.  I have had my heart set on white cabinets, but and concerned that it will not end up looking very nice next to my white appliances (which are staying).  We have contemplated going gray with the cabinetry, but I am concerned it may look too dark.  I would like to lighten up our room.  Any suggestions?  Thanks!

A: White cabinets should look just fine with white appliances. Especially once you have those new wood floors put in, it will look nice together!

**Q: Alpine White Granite kitchen question** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Hi,
I just picked out my Alpine White Granite Slab for the kitchen and I was wondering if I should do a full backsplash. The granite slab I picked out makes a bold statement with lots going on (why I love it so much) and I was wondering if it would be too much as a backsplash. I love the look of uniform (all being the same) but having second thoughts because of my granite choice. Thoughts please. Pics of my slab and kitchen to be below.

A: I would agree with taking out the 6" backsplash. Keeping the full granite backsplash under the range would be a great focal point, especially with the granite you have chosen! Maybe find a way to frame that granite backsplash with something like tile trim molding. Otherwise, the edges next to the white beveled subway tile could look awkward, in my opinion.
