> Working with Nicole was an absolute pleasure, the overall experience and final product was beyond our expectations...we loved everything about what she did for us and with this project! Nicole has definitely found her niche and this is evident in the workmanship and craftsmanship she displays with every fine detail from beginning to end. You're not going to find an interior designer with better creativity and problem solving skills than Nicole. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! 5 STARS\*\*\*

> This is the second time we have used Nicole's services.Several years ago she helped with a facelift to our home - helped to choose new hardwood, drapes, pictures to give our 30 year old home a new look. This year we did a full bathroom renovation with Nicole's help, and we were very happy with the results.

**Comment from Interiors by Nicole:**

> Thank you! You have a beautiful home. Always happy to help.

> We knew we'd need help planning the decor of this drastically downsized and old fashioned house that we were moving into. An internet search led us to Nicole. From her first consultation we felt she was trustworthy, creative, knowledgeable and ambitious. Not only was our first expectation met, it was well exceeded. She helped us transform our space into one that we are proud of and comfortable in. We could go on about how professional Nicole is, but it all boils down to saying that you'll get a lot more than your money's worth if you allow her to participate in or undertake your project. Cathy and I highly recommend Nicole. She is a true professional and a highly skilled craftsman. I've included only a few photos of our new space.

> I have been in a professional relationship with Nicole for approximately 6 months now.
> I find her to be very knowledgeable about all facets of a project, ie: construction, design, plumbing, cupboards, flooring, windows, doors, & wall products.
> She is intelligent enough to ask about anything that she does not know or is not familiar with because she understands that knowledge is power.
> She is a very respectful, friendly, hard working professional that I believe has the ability to work with anyone.
> Timelines were followed & budgets met.

> Nicole was a great help in my kitchen renovations. From a 1980's kitchen to a fabulous modern one. I couldn't be more pleased. She designed the new plan, made recommendations and suggestions, but most of all, listened and followed through with my "wish list". She consulted with the contractors and with her knowledge in carpentry and construction, she was extremely helpful. She is well respected by the contractors and suppliers. She came with me for the shopping for the table, the lighting, the flooring and cabinetry. She supervised the entire project and was on site every day. It was a pleasure to deal with her.

## Community Q&A

**Q: Need help with nook** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I am busy working on a new home, want the nook to be cozy. The settee and table are new, I like an eclectic look, the cowhide doesn't have to stay, what would you do for a light fixture

A: I too have a setty. Mine is eclectic with old table and new chairs. I love it. Table is not so precious that the kids can't do their crafts on.

**Q: Ugh.... Need help with countertops in open kitchen** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Ugh... We have been looking for kitchen countertops for awhile. We love the look of marble but have 2 little ones and I am not the tidiest person:). Any suggestions for countertops. We don't want to be too busy (that is why we tend to go towards marble. We would love to have suggestions so we can finish our last part if the house. Thank you!

A: Try quartz. Its beautiful more durable and less busy

**Q: Kitchen Renovation** *(in Design Dilemma)*

We've come this far with this kitchen reno but Im having trouble deciding on color/type of backsplash for this space. Any suggestions for window curtains? PATTERN ideas welcome!! There is 3 windows in the kitchen.

A: I agree with eckjunebug. Tile all the way up the wall. You wight want to bring home some tile of different sizes to see how each will work with your asymetrical layout. Small tile like mosiac might balance each side of the hood where a big tile might highlight it. Also, the windows on either side are not the same. Try to put a flower pot or canisters in front of the window to hide/balance the difference. I love the floor and your choices. It's very similar to what I picked. Good luck.

**Q: Bed and bath** *(in Design Dilemma)*

HELP! I have a old house with a harvest gold tub, and toilet yuck! But I can't afford to change them out right now so I love the color grey. But red black and white as well is there a way to incorporate these colors into these two rooms?

A: I woull go grey as well.

**Q: Judges Panel** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I'm thinking about about buying a house that has a family room that is entirely paneled with Judges Panel. Although it is beautiful this isn't the look I want for my family room, its totally not my style. Any suggestions for painting the room and how to make it tie in with the rest of the house that has dry and white molding and trim?

A: The problem with this room is not the wood! It is the lack of furnishings and colour. Take out the wood blinds and make them darker, paint the railing darker. Change the carpet. Paint the ceiling a tan/taupe color to pick a color in the brick. Change to ceiling fan to something more contemporary. You could go midcentury furnishing or more contemporary would be a nice style but I would not put you existing furniture in there. To small and too traditional for the room. I would flank two long couches on either side of the fireplace with a square coffee table. Sometimes you have to decorate with the house's style. Have fun!

**Q: Need help with redesigning my livingroom!** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Hi there, I have a small living room that we are wanting to completely redo from the furniture to the "entertainment corner" the window treatments and the wall color. I don't think there is much flexibility with all the short walls that we have to change the furniture placement much, but I had thought of making the long wall an entertainment/fireplace wall since it's an exterior wall...that would not leave much room for good furniture placement though. We have thought about taking out the corner hutch and putting a sectional in that corner and keeping the tv where it is but then we would want to update that corner for sure. We like the traditional look but with a modern clean line approach and want a more neutral palate. Any suggestions would be much appreciated!! Thanks.

A: I would get a long sleek couch to go under the window. Then I would get 2 tub chairs to go on either side of the arch to the main hall. I would put the tv/bookcase/fireplace in white on the long exterior wall. I would paint the wall a white or cream to tie in with your entrance and add color with accessories and curtains. I large sisel rug would be nice. Invest in a large piece of art for the 4' wall because you will see it when you come in the house. Have fun.
