> Michelle Durpetti has an amazing eye for what a room needs. Whether you have an idea in mind or are at a loss for which direction to go, she is the perfect designer for all projects. Her attention to detail and her ability to incorporate your preferences into a project is such a gift.

**Comment from Durpetti Interiors:**

> Thank you so much! So much fun and a pleasure to work with you:)

**★★★★★ — Tracy Stevanov, Dec. 2017**

> As a real estate broker we have relied on Durpetti Interior's exquisite taste in our eclectic City of Asheville! She integrates beautiful high-end textiles with imported features such as African Mud cloth accents to create an environment that people want to be in. We could go on and on about how she does not have just one pair of eyes for the project that she is working on. She finds a way to use resources that are exactly what the client is looking for in their budget. We love that she mixes antiques with new furnishings in a way that we could have never imagined ourselves. She is a true pioneer in her profession and an absolute joy to work with!

> Ms. Durpetti was able to work with foundational decisions I had made before contacting her and blended them into a beautiful, multi-room, functional plan. The project included a walk-through galley kitchen, entryway, and powder room in the center of the home connecting to two major living spaces. The area is open to both spaces and required a design plan that brought continuity to the open floor plan. She incorporated unique elements for just the right amount of drama and focus, such as a wonderful kitchen backsplash, lighting, and striking bathroom wall covering. Ms. Durpetti worked within my budget and provided valuable assistance with the innumerable choices that needed to be made. She worked within the deadlines and was flexible with the input I received from my contractor. If I were to take on another project of this size, I would contact her at the very beginning of the project.

> We hired Durpetti Interiors to help remodel the master bathroom. Michelle from Durpetti Interiors was very professional and has great taste. She listens to customer needs and requests, checks with customer
> for suggestions and approval; and turns the idea and design to a reality! Love her work and loved the end result. Our bathroom is now one of our favorite rooms!!

> Working with Durpetti Interiors has been a very successful venture. Michelle is honest, hard working and thoughtful. She listened closely to what I wanted. She was given the freedom to suggest other options and always came through with high quality ideas. My home is a warmer, more inviting place. My kitchen is more functional and my love for cooking has been invigorated. I would recommend Michelle for any size project knowing that the final outcome will be exactly what the client wants. Thanks, Michelle!

> I would like to express the most fabulous, fulfilling & enjoyable experience working with Michelle Durpetti. Not only did Michelle peg my style instantly, she then turned my 1 BR condo into a gorgeous, romantic & inviting home. When I enter my foyer, by myself or with guests, the creative style receives comfort, warmth & my personality. Michelle has the ability to bring your personal style out from photographs, memoirs, color, print & textures. Michelle even used my cowboy boots to decorate!
>
> Michelle is completely "hands-on". She stained, reupholstered & made many projects her own.
>
> This was my first time using an interior designer and I hit the jackpot. Michelle remained within my budget, is punctual and works at a swift pace. I would highly recommend this talented gem to anybody!
>
> Many thanks to Michelle Durpetti Interiors for placing a smile on my face each time I open my front door!
>

**Comment from Durpetti Interiors:**

> A typo it says "interior director" instead of interior designer in paragraph 2, could you fix?

**★★★★★ — Window Expressions by Janet, July 2013**

> I have had the pleasure of working with Michelle for the past few months. First of all I would like to say how easy she is to work with. The designs that I have seen and the projects that I have worked on with her are truly an inspiration. I would not hesitate to recommend her for any interior design work and look forward to working with her on many more projects.

**★★★★★ — Laura Retzlaff, Jan. 2013**

> Ms. Durpetti was respectful of my time, prompt when visiting me at my home, and understanding of my budget requirements. She was intuitive in assessing my personal style, presenting me with options for colors and fabrics that worked with what I thought I wanted in addition to other ideas that would be compatible. Ms. Durpetti listened carefully and offered suggestions that matched my needs, not hers. She kept me inspired to move ahead even during the busy holidays.
>
> My project was a small bedroom which turned out to be perfect for my "do-it-yourself" lifestyle. However the designer's flair picked up on small details to upgrade that made a big overall impact.
>
> I anticipate using Durpetti Interiors again in the near future.

**★★★★★ — sheribland, April 2012**

> I have seen first hand the amazing things that Michelle can create to bring in that perfect atmosphere. I love how she can pull together the many pieces of a room and make it all fit-the fabrics, the furniture, the accessories, the colors. She is easy to work with and really listens to what I am wanting . She is organized, considerate and very personable! She coordinates the details and all people involved very smoothly. Working with Michelle, it seems like her design and decorating ideas, work and end product just flow out as an extention of who she is. She is a delight to work with!

## Community Q&A

**Q: Fireplace** *(in Photo Questions)*

Can you me if the fireplace is vent free? If so, where can I get it? Thanks

A: The fireplace is vented and the surround was purchased from a local fireplace specialty store near Elgin, IL

**Q: Wall color** *(in Photo Questions)*

What's the wall color?

A: It is Benjamin Moore gray wisp in pearl finish.

**Q: What brand and color is the stone on the fireplace?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: It is Daltile. Sorry, I do not have the color of the stone. You can also find a version of this at some Lowes stores. Thanks!

**Q: Fireplace mantle** *(in Photo Questions)*

Can you tell me what type of wood you used for the mantle and the size/height?

A: Hi, this mantle is a reclaimed piece from an approximately 500 year old elm tree. It was then sanded and hand applied 8+ coats of shellac to protect the wood and give it the finished look. Sorry, I do not have exact measurements, it was cut to fit this fireplace.

**Q: Headboard guidelines** *(in Photo Questions)*

Love the headboard--was it custom made? I noticed that it is a bit wider than the mattress. Are there any hard and fast guidelines for width and height for headboards?

A: Yes, it was custom made. I wanted the headboard to be a focal point and had it fabricated taller to give it stature. There are no hard and fast rules on sizes, but I would consider it fitting the scale of the room. Thanks!

**Q: Paint color for nursery - girl** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Hi there, I am hoping to get general direction on paint color for my baby's nursery. I love vintage floral sheets and am making her bed din gin a whole mix of different 50s, 60s and 70s florals in all sorts of colors (mainly pastels, but some brights with orange). I also scoured some flea markets to get really cute little painting and framed pictures with Holly Hobbie type images, little birds, etc. I would love to see pops of tiffany blue, pink and yellow around the room.

I have a chair rail already installed on the walls and am wondering if I should do two paint colors or one? And also, if I should go with a really light pink for the background with cream or white? A light Tiffany blue (I have a lot of blue rooms in house already though)? Or any other suggestions...? I am trying to steer clear of gray, since I am tired of seeing it everywhere already and I am worried that all white or ream will be too stark.

Attaching a few inspiration pics for what I am looking at. Help appreciated!

A: If you are going with tons of colorful bedding and accessories, I would stick with a white shade. To add interest, I white with lilac undertones would be fun. Best of luck!
