Carolyn Robbins loves to work with sustainable products and services. "I have adopted the title of ‘site designer’ because your site is the basis for exploration and invention of design. It includes the way your house sits on the land, the way you access your house, how you function in your home and the artisitic individual characteristics you integrate with the furnishings you possess." Carolyn The natural way you live in your space, inside and out, as well as the way you engage in your community, are all relevant to the way I design for you. No two of my projects are anything alike. Yes, I have a style but it’s secondary to my client’s. My style includes artistic applications, craftsmanship and clean simple design solutions. ### Services Provided - Interior Design - Kitchen Design - Bathroom Design - Bedroom Design - Color Consulting - Furniture Selection - Kids Bedroom Design - Dining Room Design - Custom Cabinets - Custom Kitchen Cabinets - Home Office Design & Construction - Custom Built-ins - Entry Design - Floor Plans - Custom Bathroom Vanities - Custom Furniture - Custom Blinds & Shades - House Plans - Custom Home Bars - Closet Design - Basement Design - Custom Bookcases - Custom Walk-in Closets - Custom Rugs - Custom Entertainment Centers - Home Theater Design - Custom Fireplace Mantels - Custom Shelving - Custom Pantries - Downsizing - Drafting - Holiday Decorating - Green Building - Custom Storage - Decluttering - Historic Building Conservation - Feng Shui Design - Garage Design - Garage Storage ### Areas Served - San Rafael ### Typical Job Cost $80 - 200,000 I like to work by the hour but can work by the project. ## Business Details | Field | Value | | --- | --- | | Business Name | Carolyn Robbins Site Design | | Address | 179 Oak Drive, San Rafael, California 94901, United States | | Phone | (415) 215-0339 | | Website | http://carolynrobbins.com | | Followers on Houzz | 42 | **Social profiles:** - Facebook — https://www.facebook.com/pages/Antares-Furnishings/230626960427116 - X (Twitter) — https://twitter.com/carolynsruffled - LinkedIn — http://www.linkedin.com/pub/carolyn-robbins/a/833/742/ - Blog — http://carolynrobbins.com/index.html ## Contact - **Houzz profile:** [Carolyn Robbins Site Design](https://www.houzz.com/professionals/interior-designers-and-decorators/carolyn-robbins-site-design-pfvwus-pf~2013468907) - **Website:** http://carolynrobbins.com - **Phone:** (415) 215-0339 ## Credentials **Certifications & Awards** - Most recently the ten most green designers in the bay area by greenlinkup. From the moment she first "met" our home, she started giving us great, creative, ideas to improve our home's interior. She was always mindful of what our style was (she help us figure out what "our" style was), how we used our home, and how to get everything into an integrated look that worked for us. we ended up improving how we "live" in our home as well as how it looks. Carolyn is truly inventive, but she was always mindful of using her creativity in a way that matched our style and the fundamental architecture of our home. So, some of her great ideas were easy to implement, but made a big difference. Others were more work, but so obviously "right" that it was worth it. Can't say enough good things about her style, process and insight! **★★★★★ — dolores heeb, June 2018** > I have worked with Carolyn for 11 years - 2 major projects and one smaller one as well as other contributions she has made - and it has always been a real pleasure. You can see photos of my kitchen - Dolores Heeb Residence on this site. > > Carolyn is creative and responsive to my tastes, while often offering new ideas and ways of looking at things. I value her eye and talent for composition. > > She is meticulous and has the very highest standards. The results of her work are practical, elegant, and always interesting. > > The breadth of her knowledge, skill, and artistry is very impressive. She is the most creative person I know. > > She's also fun to work with. ## Selected projects - [Marin Designer's Showcase](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/marin-designer-s-showcase-pj-vj~1222526) - Location: Not specified - Photos: 13 - [Dolores Heeb Residence](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/dolores-heeb-residence-pj-vj~115887) - Location: Not specified - Photos: 6 - [Lyle and Han-yu's Home](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/lyle-and-han-yu-s-home-pj-vj~608528) - Location: Not specified - Photos: 14 - [Goldberg Residence](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/goldberg-residence-pj-vj~1216100) - Location: Not specified - Photos: 4 - [O'Heffernan Kitchen](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/o-heffernan-kitchen-pj-vj~1216310) - Location: Not specified - Photos: 4 - [Hatos Residence, Pebble Beach](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/hatos-residence-pebble-beach-pj-vj~1216214) - Location: Not specified - Photos: 4 - [Rosen residence](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/rosen-residence-pj-vj~1215974) - Location: Not specified - Photos: 4 [See all 7 projects](https://www.houzz.com/professionals/interior-designers-and-decorators/carolyn-robbins-site-design-pfvwus-pf~2013468907) ## Ideabooks - [Wish List](https://www.houzz.com/ideabooks/147976973/list/wish-list) — 1 idea - [Making electrical wiring fun.](https://www.houzz.com/ideabooks/52200824/list/making-electrical-wiring-fun) — 2 ideas - [textures and light](https://www.houzz.com/ideabooks/5572706/list/textures-and-light) — 7 ideas [See all 3 ideabooks](https://www.houzz.com/ideabooks/users/carolynrobbins) ## Community Q&A **Q: Lamp** *(in Photo Questions)* That is the coolest lamp. Can you give info on where I can get one? A: This is an Art Deco French lamp I own. So I am sorry it is not available to buy. But, if I was to look for such a lamp, I would check classic Art Deco sites. **Q: can you tell me the specific color name for the slab tile?** *(in Photo Questions)* A: Hi, I'm not sure what you mean by the slab tile. I assume you are talking about the backsplash material. It was a customer color, worked in and around a shattered glass material. Carolyn **Q: where can I find this back splash material?** *(in Photo Questions)* A: So Sorry I've failed to send you information on this glass backsplash. The artist's name is Ellen Blakeley http://ellenblakeley.com and I purchased her product through Ceramic Tile Design in San Rafael, CA. She does a beautiful job or adding the colorants and papers behind the glass to make a perfect custom product. --- *Source: Houzz professional profile. Reflects the profile as of 2026-11-08.*
