Of the contractors we met with he was the only one to provide us with a sketch of our basement to make sure the floor plan presented matched our expectations. Stephen handled the framing and stone work himself and had exceptional subcontractors working for him. A few of the standouts were JTM plumbing and Gustavo painting. Gustavo's crew handled staining our bar and painting all of our walls. The are very meticulous and take great pride in their work. He used a primer and 2 coats of paint throughout the basement. The drywaller's did good work but were not very the best on clean up. We had a start date in June and will have the project completed by the end of next week. The timeline aligned with our expectations. Unlike some of the contractors we met with Stephen allowed us to pay the job in stages of completion, which should be an industry norm not exception (most want 50% up front). Overall the basement turned out exactly the way we wanted. There is nothing “precision” about his work. He tiled two landings and replaced a door. There is a jagged 1” gap next to the door that the tile doesn’t cover. He destroyed the wall next to my door. Uneven tiles next to another door and the stairs. He had to come back to finish the door. Told us Wednesday or Friday and didn’t show up until the following Tuesday.
