They demand payment in full before they begin installation which renders you without a mechanism of recourse when they fail - and they repeatedly failed us. They're masters at making excuses. > > We experienced atrociously poor customer service leading to LOTS of STRESS. > > Our under mount kitchen sink fell - you read that correctly - the entire sink disconnected from the countertop because it was poorly installed by them even after they reassured us on two occasions that all installs are completed in this manner. Our kitchen is 2 years old. I contacted them and VLM Stone (the stone company they contract to) and not a single reply. That's what led to this review. > > They also made the stove cut out too small. We signed off on it AFTER they reassured us that our current stove is easily replaceable. We trusted them, after-all, they do "build kitchens everyday". Guess what? It's impossible to find the same width stove. We now need to coordinate a gas fitter and visit from a stone cutter to trim off an inch. This goes back to their atrocious customer service. We weren't taken care of - full stop. She came and we went to their beautiful showroom.We viewed many style of kitchens, and NOT once, were we ever pushed by Renata to get this or get that. The overall process that we went thru is quite rigorous, either it is design review, options on the materials, detailing and such. What we observed is that Lucvaa team thoroughly reviewed the design that our designer has proposed and advised what will work and what needs to be tweaked to still stay within the intended design goals. Will definitely recommend them and use them again in the future! **★ — Mauro Giovannone, March 2021** > Buyer Beware...By far one of the worst kitchen installation experiences and companies I have ever encountered. > > When signing on with Lucvaa, we left a $20000 deposit in October 2020 and we were promised that our kitchen would be finished by the middle of December 2020 which turned out not to be true as our kitchen was finally finalized on March 21 2021 and it took 3 aggravating months of phone calls, emails, escalations, complaining etc. to get them back to finish everything they were supposed to. The only reason why we chose Lucvaa for our kitchen was because they promised to deliver and finalize the installation of our cabinets by the middle of December, and this was important to us as it would allow us to move into our new home on time (we actually paid Lucvaa more than the other companies we received quotes from but our timeline superseded the additional cost that Lucvaa was charging so we decided to proceed). Let me start by saying I should have just waited for the other kitchen company I used in the past and saved myself some money and aggravation as they were much more attentive, realistic and professional in every aspect and less expensive as well. > > It all went downhill on the day the kitchen installation was supposed to start. I was advised two days before installation started that the remaining balance of the payment was expected on the delivery date of the kitchen (prior to the completion of installation might I add) and when I mentioned I had a problem with that and that I would pay the balance upon completion, the owner immediately cancelled the delivery of the kitchen, advised his installer to pack his tools and go home. My jaw dropped to the ground as soon as I heard that. Then that was followed by arguing and a yelling match about company policies that we were never made aware of and that only benefit Lucvaa and their pockets and their timelines and not the clients needs. They basically handcuff you into their payment terms after taking a 50% deposit a few months earlier (as if you had not committed to them) and leaving you without a kitchen even though you left a hefty deposit a few months earlier. I was left no other choice but to pay the balance without even seeing one single piece of wood delivered to my house. So I immediately made arrangements and paid the balance on the same day of delivery as they demanded. Then to top the cake, a 2 week installation turned into 3 months of waiting and complaining about defects, unfinished counters, missing, shelves and cutlery dividers etc. Completely unacceptable when demanding those kinds of dollars and payment terms and then not delivering accordingly. Truly unprofessional. > > Above and beyond payment terms and timelines and yelling matches, there were many bad measurements taken, poor designs with our bathroom vanity / kitchen cabinets and lots of cabinets that had to be re-manufactured and installed because they did not work in the space or they were damaged. **★ — HU-434726147, Feb. 2021** > If I could give Lucvaa Kitchens 0 stars I would. We recently renovated our kitchen and used Lucvaa for design and custom cabinetry based on a family members recommendation. We have had multiple problems and despite trying to address these with Lucvaa and not resort to online reviews, there has been no ownership and a total lack of response from them. I have called and emailed multiple times and nobody responds. > > I sent the following email: > Hi Debra and Aza, > I just want to be 100% honest and upfront that I do not feel these issues have been resolved to my satisfaction and my reviews of Lucvaa will reflect that. I would love for us to work together to resolve what I feel have been avoidable issues but it seems you are more focused on whose “fault” it is. > This is why I would have preferred not to pay the full amount until the job was completed. > In future I would suggest: > \- you review the specs in advance and if all needed measurements aren’t provided, you contact the customer to ensure the appliance (in our case vent hood) will be on site during installation. We had to pay an additional charge for last minute delivery which was avoidable. > \- you provide clear plans to the contractor or explicitly state the measurements around the island and that rough ins are NOT included so there is no miscommunication or you offer to do a walk through of the site with the contractor prior to installation > \- you ensure any pertinent details for counters (such as thickness of counter required) are provided in advance - not after installation of the cabinetry > > I do not feel these expectations are unreasonable for a company that prides themselves on luxury custom kitchens and customer service. > > > > Following the above email I followed up with Debra and asked if she had received my email because I didn’t receive a reply. She responded “I don’t know what you want me to say”. > Following this email, there were 3 additional issues including the fridge not being appropriately accounted for resulting in a fridge that when installed correctly has a left side door that doesn’t open (despite Lucvaa having the specs prior to finalizing the design), the sink we purchased from them coming with the wrong drain which has still not been resolved and issues surrounding installation of paneling at the top of the cabinetry. > Basically, in summary, they are the WORST and you would receive better service at IKEA. > > EDITED to add: Following posting this review, Lucvaa suddenly became very responsive and visited our home the following day. They reimbursed us $650 to have the baseboard removed so the fridge fit and the appropriate drain was received. This did not cover our full costs related to the modification that was necessary to fit the fridge, the delivery cost for the vent hood or the miscommunication related to the rough ins but something is better than nothing. Unfortunately I can not change the location of my hood or ovens. I would love opinions on how the cabinet design looks on the stove side, especially on uppers. It seems off balance to me. There is open space to the right side which has the dining table. I also attached the other side of my kitchen so you can have a complete view. Thank you! A: That @ritasj said is what we recommend as well. You may not notice it now, but you will once the cabinets are installed. At that point, it will be a costly fix. Also, one thing you can change could be the column of cabinets with the microwave. Many of our customers opt for a full cabinet with a 'cubby' for the microwave to sit at a more convenient height (i.e. equal to your arm). Since you have the island countertop right across from the microwave, that small space seems like a waste. Or you can always move the microwave to below the island counter.
