During our new home build process, we selected kitchen and bathroom countertops from Marble Uniques. Our kitchen required 2 1/2 slabs and we were looking for a light, bright granite. The selection was very limited, and we were not aware that the finish you see in the warehouse (which is under lighted, and the slabs were dusty and stacked back to back so you could not fully inspect all surface areas) was the finish of the installed product. Our counters are very dull (not shiny as expected) with multiple inclusions. Additionally, the seams are jagged and uneven. We had Marble Uniques out 3x to attempt to fix them. We were told nothing could be done on the finish or inclusions, since that was the granite piece we selected. Beautiful A: So sorry we did not see this earlier. This stone is White Macaubus-Quartzite **Q: counters** *(in Photo Questions)* what material is the countertop A: This is White Macaubus Quartzite. We do have this currently in stock! **Q: Color** *(in Photo Questions)* What color quartzite is this? A: It is called White Macaubus. We have a full bundle at our showroom! **Q: Granite countertops dont match! Am I making a big deal out of nothing?** *(in Design Dilemma)* I ordered Arctic Cream granite for my countertops and Island. The fabricator said they would have to order two slabs for the job and sent me a picture of each. They told me there was a small difference between the two slabs, but they would just use one for the island and the other slab for the countertops - that way the differences in slabs would not be noticeable and it would all tie together. Well, once they were installed it became very obvious to me that the two slabs are quite different in color. The island has a very very yellow hue, whereas the countertops do not! It really bothers me every time I look at them and am wondering if its just me or is it something that is worth making an issue of. I have attached a few pictures and would much much appreciate your thoughts. Am I making a big deal out of nothing, or is this something I should expect for the fabricator to fix? Thanks so much for sharing! A: Your fabricator obviously used two different lots of Arctic cream. When doing kitchen countertops, the two slabs would need to be pulled from the same lot/bin and would need to be consecutive slabs in order to match. This is not standard practice and not acceptable.
