> If getting the job done right is important to you, then you need to call A-Team Home Improvement! I was struggling with high energy bills this summer, and my second story was nearly un-bearable. I was looking to figure out the cause and brainstorming on my own, but I was coming up short. I called A-Team and their insulation guys came out and identified the problems, offered solutions that made sense, and put my mind at ease finally! Within a month the job was done and it's made any incredible difference already! They were professional and efficient the entire way through to the completion of the job. I have recommend A-Team to my clients and they've always done great work. I highly recommend A-Team for any home improvement job, large or small!

> A Team provided us with the best experience in our remodeling project. They were professional in their communication: always letting us know who and when people were coming, showed up on time and sometimes were able to get us on the schedule earlier than planned which is amazing. They let us know when we had gone over budget quickly to help us plan. The men who worked in our house were polite, talented, and never left a mess. I could often hardly tell I'd had a crew there that day and they were doing messy work. The care and detail with which they completed the work was top notch. Just beautiful craftsmanship. We had a wall taken out, hard wood floors installed, new stair railings/banisters installed, and bathroom updates. They also helped us make contact with other professionals who were helpful in our project. I appreciated their willingness to help us cut costs when we could by doing some of the work ourselves. Thanks for such a positive experience. I would recommend them highly.

Polite, patient. A top rung operation.

> We have had A-Team do several home improvement/remodel jobs over the last couple of years...refinished hardwood floors, painted an interior stairwell, added a tile entry at the deck door, resided and painted the exterior of the house, remodeled the deck with cedar (photos are on their website), replaced all the exterior lighting fixtures, and repaired damage to our wood porch.
>
> The only problem we have had was some bad stain applied to the deck...the product used was defective...but it was stripped off and new stain was applied.
>
> We are very happy with the work...Alan (the owner) and his crew are very knowledgeable and have always been courteous and professional. The work was always completed in a reasonable time frame. They aren't cheap but you get what you pay for!

> A-Team Home Improvement demonstrated excellence in: replacing carpeting with engineered wood flooring in four rooms, two hallways, and stairs; repainting all rooms in the house, and replacing countertops with quartz and installing a backsplash. The work was completed on time, came in under budget, and is quite beautiful. When I asked that they replace a stair tread that I didn't think quite matched, they did so willingly and promptly.
>
> All of this might sound ordinary. It was not. I was living in Puerto Rico during the entire bid gathering and renovation process. I had to rely on and trust A-Team. That reliance and trust were well placed.

> I plan on using A Team again in the future. They were very responsive during the project when we had questions or concerns, they stuck to the project schedule and budget and even helped out with a couple of additional items which were out of the project scope. Even when unforeseen things came up, which they always do, A-Team worked hard to make things as easy as possible for us, the owners. They also use really great subs, every tradesperson we met on during the project was friendly and professional.

> I have had A-Team complete 2 different projects in my new home. All of the crew members were amazing, very respectful of your home and cleaned up each day after they were done, both projects were completed ahead of schedule and turned out even better then I expected. Some of the work they completed for me included installing a new bathroom vanity, laying porcelain tile, installing new drywall, painting, trim work and installing a Pella patio door. I would highly recommend them!!!

## Community Q&A

**Q: Exterior Color** *(in Photo Questions)*

What is the exterior color and brand of this siding?

A: I am not sure of the siding or the color on the siding. We built the TimberTech deck in the picture. The siding appears to be a 4x8 8" oc Smart or T1-11 siding product.

**Q: decorating tall wall space** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I am struggling to decorate my walls. I purchased two pictures on the left that I like with the intent to get the other two in the series eventually. Now they don't have them and I am at a loss as to how I can balance them out on the other side? Also, we are replacing the poor green recliner once we decide what we want to get!

A: I think having the set would look fine but I would put them up higher. About 18" from the ceiling to the top picture. It will fill the space much better and you'll have the room underneath for a side table with pictures or a lamp.

**Q: Bathroom vanity** *(in Design Dilemma)*

What is the minimum length for a vanity with two sinks? Thanks.

A: No problem. Yep the undermount tubs and supplies for them are typically more expensive because they are much less common. Would you be willing to use the custom tile as the deck surface as well? Some of our customers have used tile on the front, sides, and top of undermount/drop in tubs.
Other options would be a drop-in tub or a soaking tub. The drop-in would give you the tile options you want but will have a small lip that sits on top of the decking. The soaking tub option is what we've installed the most of. They are deeper than traditional alcove tubs and a little nicer.
Sorry to hear about the showrooms. I would try calling a few local contractors to see if they have pictures, a personal showroom, or even an old project they can walk you through.

Here's a picture of a soaking tub we recently installed. It doesn't show it but the same tile is used on the floor. It isn't a drop-in but it's much nicer than your average alcove tub.

**Q: need help with coordinating tile in shower with new tile for vanity** *(in Design Dilemma)*

We have a shower that is tiled in white with green accents. We are installing a new vanity; do I need to match the new tiles with the existing shower or can I do something entirely different? It's a small bathroom....

A: I agree with printesa. Matching the tile is probably the best option. Consider matching the green as well on the backsplash. This makes a big difference to tie the room together and will make it look like you planned it this way the whole time.
Good luck on your project!

**Q: green roof** *(in Design Dilemma)*

new house roof of 1000+ sf. planned for a green roof, a great idea seems to be too expensive if done by professionals. Roof designed to pitch for drainage and would like to grow Hudson valley local grass and some vegetables DIY style. Would appreciate advice from the Houzzer community.

A: Hi zaofangzi,
I would definitely get it designed by the professionals. And my reasons for that are green roof's take on a lot more weight than an average roof and even with the correct pitch a poor design can lead to drainage problems. Those two problems combined can make your exterior green roof an interior green mess. Keep in mind if there is a problem a lot of insurance companies will not cover the damage because something was not installed by professionals.
If you're handy I see no reason you can install and maintain this type of system. But I would try to find a company that has experience with green roof's and see if they are willing to help you throughout the process so you know it gets done the right way.
Hope that helps, good luck!

**Q: What to put on the walls(foyer+2sides of fireplace)-Warm Coastal Look** *(in Design Dilemma)*

A: I think your best bet would be some open shelves with a bright color to showcase the decor items. Shelves would look fine either matching the mantle or painted white to pop a little more.
With that you should also consider hanging artwork. Center the art pieces and have a few small shelves below for those smaller items.
Don't go too deep on the shelves though. Looks like your fireplace doesn't come into the room very far. Whatever you decide to go with stay even with or behind the fireplace.
Good luck!
