> We met Sandra and Scott at The Seattle Home Show when we finally decided to ‘bite the bullet’ and update our badly worn kitchen, laundry room and adjoining dining room. Their booth easily stood out from all the others. When they came to see our potential project, they creatively proposed several options of how we could proceed. One of our early meetings was held at their totally remodeled mid-century modern home so we could see in person what detail and finishes they use -- we instantly knew their handsome but warm, clean architectural style was what our home needed.

> I soon found out that details and making decisions are not strengths of mine. And living in a disrupted state wasn’t much fun either. But similar to natural childbirth, once the remodel is ‘born’, amnesia quickly sets in as joy fills you. I can say without hesitation that Bristol Design and Construction LLC has fabulous design ideas, uses warm details to add comfort to your home, and has incredibly skilled employees who are as friendly as they are talented.

> Sandra is fabulous to work with & I would recommend her without hesitation. She is responsive, a good listener, extremely talented, and highly collaborative around design solution discussions. Sandra is able to find beautiful solutions in all price ranges. She easily assumes the role of designer, switching to owner advocate, if needed to address questions around build. We have worked with Sandra on 2 separate projects in 2005 & 2009 which speaks in & of itself that we are repeat clients.

> Bristol provided us an overall new design and floor plan change of our condo space and then a complete remodel in two phases. The first phase included total remodel of Master Suite, bath, closet, laundry, hallway, and utilities. The second phase, one year later, included total remodel of the kitchen, bar, fireplace, and great room areas. Our experience during the entire process was positive - we are thrilled with the results. Bristol's work was exceptional - we would highly recommend them.

> The Bristol community took our 1960's kitchen, family room and laundry down to the studs and built up a stunning, modern living space that won the Kitchen and Bath Association's award for best open-plan kitchen in 2007. We look around every day since and take delight in the fact that we now live in a new home and didn't have to move.

**★★★★ — sliplips, Jan. 2014**

> I'm a bit premature because my project is moving slowly (due to MY issues, not Bristol's.) I am still in the planning stage. That said, the plans to date have done an excellent job of reflecting not just what I had noted as wishes, but their putting those things together in a form much better than I had envisioned. Clearly I am pushing my boundaries and I hope I do not meet any issues that keep me from completion. I DREAM about their design and walk through it in my mind.
> The ONLY reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is simply because I have not done more than a simple beginning. No "proof of the pudding." I will update rating when done. Thank you Sandra, Scott and Nicky. :)

> This is a fantastic, full service architectural, design and build company. Just take a look at this finish and mill work all custom mill work right from their shop in the Bellevue, Washington area.

- [Villa Sul Lago](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/villa-sul-lago-pj-vj~1698621)
  - Location: Not specified

  - Description: This house on a beautiful lake, which enjoys spectacular mountain views as well, embodies the sophisticated character of a classic European masterpiece. Thus ‘Villa Sul Lago’ was created. The remarkable transition from a 1960’s congested space planning arrangement to this gracious and functional layout took the space far beyond expectation. Everything is now functional and enjoyable; whether taking in outdoor views, sitting in front of the fireplace or gathering over morning coffee.
- [West Seattle Rambler](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/west-seattle-rambler-pj-vj~1393791)
  - Location: Not specified
  - Photos: 24
  - Description: This mid-century modern kitchen experienced an amazing makeover by incorporating an adjacent, little used ‘family room’. Functionality was of utmost importance, but aesthetics followed close behind. Appliance heavy, even more stainless steel was incorporated for a fully-integrated look. The industrial scullery sink accommodates clean up with ease. Artful storage was built into the end of the fireplace as part of the beverage peninsula. The floating shelf and column detail that anchors one end of…

  - Location: Kirkland, WA

  - Description: Condominium buildings provide a different set of challenges when remodeling. Existing structures, plumbing and venting chases that can’t be moved must be cleverly integrated and incorporated into a successful project. The previous galley kitchen plan was angled in this solution to open the kitchen space up more to the adjacent dining and living rooms. Our client’s requested a black, white, and red kitchen. Rather than using paint or extremely contemporary cabinetry, aniline dyes were used over r…
- [2nd Story Master Suite Addition](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/2nd-story-master-suite-addition-pj-vj~234946)
  - Location: Kirkland, WA
  - Photos: 4
  - Description: 1st Place- Large Bathroom- 15th Annual Northwest Design Awards This Master Suite is part of a second story addition to a 1950’s Asian Tea House. Simple lines were desired along with open circulation and classically contemporary materials. The Suite is composed of four areas; the bedroom, the closet, the dressing room and the bathroom. Within the bathroom, the mosaic-tiled column defines the large bathing area from the vanity. Incorporated is a drying-off zone at one end, a wet zone at the other,…
- [Bellevue Renovation](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/bellevue-renovation-pj-vj~232456)
  - Location: Bellevue, WA
  - Photos: 13
  - Description: When approached to remodel this client’s home of over 30 years, they requested a dining room that could regularly accommodate 10 people. As avid cooks and entertainers, specific zones for preparation, cooking and clean-up were also a must, along with areas to help keep guests out of the kitchen. In addition to opening spaces by removing walls; a Villa Pantry was added, the existing narrow entry was extended by 4 feet, widening the dining area, and a see-through gas fireplace was installed at the…

  - Description: The structural beam in this project is a highlight for us. We purposefully widened it to create an architectural element that wraps to the floor on both ends. We clad the beam with airplane aluminum and exposed rivets. Can you guess that our client is a pilot? The glass bar element supported with a solid block of Bavarian Rosewood is also stunning.

  - Location: Not specified
  - Photos: 10
  - Description: Updating this 1898 historic home located on a low bank of Bainbridge Island began with an approach to maintain the architectural and structural integrity but infuse the house with modern function. A generous communal kitchen was created by combining several small rooms and removing a wall blocking the Puget Sound view. The dark structural elements framing areas of the kitchen were pronounced within the light color scheme. The industrial steel styling of the large scullery sink and the hood vent…
- [GKBT 2014: Bristol Design & Construction](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/gkbt-2014-bristol-design-and-construction-pj-vj~503180)
  - Location: Seattle, WA
  - Photos: 5
  - Description: This stunning contemporary remodel was achieved with black and white dye over White Oak custom cabinets. The cast glass bar, supported with a Rosewood block, and aluminum clad beam evolved from the client’s love of planes and industrial design. They desired a sophisticated great room to lounge by the fireplace and appreciate the garden’s water feature. This generous and classic interior now embraces the exterior and Lake Washington views beautifully.
