The design for my backyard fire pit was acceptable as drawn. It was discussed with the designer that I wanted it to fit four adirondack type chairs and a fire pit. Never did the designer ask me dimension of the chairs or fire pit. But it was Cross River I’ve trusted them for years. So when I was provided a drawing that looked like an ample fire pit with four chairs and a fire pit drawn into it I signed the contract. I trusted their work and designs as they always provided a good design and product. Sorry to say the fire pit is only 11’ by 11’. Too small to fit 4 chairs or a fire pit there was no exit and no way to get more than 1 foot from the fire. I asked them to stop work and extend the area to be functional as I paid 50k!! They refused unless I paid more money. I all of a sudden realized the company I knew and trusted was no longer. They only will make the fire pit bigger if I sign an unreasonable release that none of the job the plants the fences the quality of work will be guaranteed like it is in my original contract. I must release them from all liability snd guarantee of the entire job. What was always an elevated experience with Cross River is now reduced to lawyers letters. Make sure you ask for measurements and double triple check the plans. Pics below. For 50k I got tiny poor quality plants as well. The quality of hardscape installed by the builder was so poor that we had to replace all of it, including the front walks, entire rear patio, and part of the driveway. We also had terrible soil and the lawn was virtually all weeds. The entire lot was scraped and new soil, sod, and a sprinkler system was installed. We have also created and installed new planting beds both front and rear. Cross River owner Tony Berardo is a great guy who is very easy to work with, as are the crews who come do the work. This is in the rear of house but is the introductory entrance to the house > The walkways are brick, dry laid on a stone compacted base. After all these years the walk is exactly as laid and only this last winter did we experience any slight heaving during the coldest period. > When the thaw arrived everything settled right back in place. The courtyard enclosed by a stone stacked wall with picket fence as intrical part is completely stable and only > painting of the cedar has been the maintenance regime. > The house was built on the side of a hill which required a retaining wall to offer a level front yard. What's the name and where can it be purchased?** *(in Photo Questions)* A: Hi, Thanks for reaching out. This stone was a quartzite blend which came from our yard here in western NJ. Unfortunately we currently don’t have this stone combination available. If you’re anywhere near eastern Pa, Delaware Quarry Stone outside New Hope might be the best bet. **Q: what kind of shrubs** *(in Photo Questions)* What kind of shrubs are these in the front A: These are american boxwood **Q: plant species please** *(in Photo Questions)* what is the name of this grass plant A: Hi Hannah, the grass in the picture is Fountain Grass. **Q: Beautiful** *(in Photo Questions)* What stone is this. Its lovely A: Thanks! It's a blend of granite - mostly Corinthian granite. **Q: Gorgeous outdoor space! Please...where might I find the french doors?** *(in Photo Questions)* A: To the best of my recollection they are Andersen Doors.
