We were not ready to take on a full renovation all at once but wanted a plan we could execute over time. Elliott was unbelievable patient with us and, more importantly, listened to what we wanted. Not being experienced in these matters, we quickly realized how much value Elliott brought to our project. In addition to evaluating the space and providing a detailed digital survey of the existing site, he listened to some of our initial ideas and goals and then drafted a comprehensive plan for both hardscape and landscape enhancements. In doing this, Elliott modified many of our ideas, explained tradeoffs and relative costs, suggested practical enhancements and changes, and allowed us to avoid many problems. In particular, Elliott was able to select appropriate native trees and plants that would enhance the site and address some of the more challenging issues, including steeps slopes and transitions to woods. We also had a number of discussions about the replacement of our back deck with an extensive bluestone patio with large firepit feature. > > When we decided to go forward, we worked with Elliott to get bids from contractors, discussed those bids with him and modified them somewhat, and went forward with executing the plans. Elliott helped us select the trees and plants at the nursery, inspected the work as it progressed, and made sure that the plans were followed.
