> I managed a project with an aggressive schedule for a high profile client and Graniterra was one of the subcontractors who under promised, but over delivered. They were on time and on budget. I definitely plan on hiring them again on future projects.

**★★★★★ — Matthew Simpson, Feb. 2019**

> A house ago, I decided to do a first floor remodel. In the plan was a new kitchen. I searched several companies for stone and one evening I walked into Graniterra, not realizing it was near closing time. They didn't mind at all, and I found myself walking the huge warehouse of stone after hours with Jay Joffray. I knew then I had found a company I could do business with. It was the old/family oriented style of business ethics I appreciated from Jay and the company. They were friendly, straight forward and laid back about selling. The white marble I bought, after a few trips back, was beautiful. I mean beautiful. So when I started a new remodel in 2018, in a new home, I called Jay.
>
> I walked in, at a respectable time I might add, laughed a bit and walked the warehouse floor again, which I love doing! I chose quartz this time around, and added a waterfall feature to the kitchen. Of course, it looks beautiful.
>
> I'm not an older guy, but I prefer the old way: small business - family atmosphere. Graniterra is a great example of this; is a place where you feel comfortable; where people are sincerely nice; where you can be relaxed and make an educated/confident decision.
>
> I don't underestimate these qualities, because after all, it's my home, my money and a serious investment.

> We had a truly horrific experience with Graniterra. We had purchased a rare type of granite and shipped it to them for polishing and cutting. After signing the initial contract, we made alterations to our layout over the phone and we were told by someone named Christian, that the plans would be altered to our new specifications. When we came home on the install day we found the granite had been cut to the previous dimensions despite assurances to the contrary and installed. Despite numerous phone calls and complaints first to Graniterra, then to the credit card company, Graniterra refused to remedy their mistake in any way. Even though the counter was cut to the wrong dimensions, they charged the full amount and kept the remnants from our slab of granite. Even though Christian freely admitted to promising to change the dimensions over the phone, the president Alex Elzein denied the phone calls and since we never made our request in writing, we had no tangible proof. Hands down worst customer service I have ever encountered anywhere. I am still stunned. We chose them in the first place because they used to get pretty decent reviews, even though they're always fairly pricey. I don't know what happened to them.

**Comment from Graniterra:**

> Graniterra never makes changes to templates simply via phone request. In order to make any change, it must be documented in detail, signed by the customer and in most cases re-templated. This review is inaccurate. Please refer to our long standing, consistent good reviews over the years and our A+BBB rating which we have maintained for 18 years.

> Graniterra provided great customer service and a beautiful finish product on a recent residential kitchen project! I recommend stopping by their showroom to get to know them!

**★★★★★ — melissaalbers05, Dec. 2014**

> We were so pleased with our experience and final product at Graniterra. They had a wide selection of stone on site, friendly and knowledgeable sales staff who were always available by phone or email to answer any questions, and their installers were very professional. We were so happy with the entire process and our new kitchen counter tops. I would recommend them to anyone.

**★★★★★ — Kristin Seymour, Dec. 2014**

> Graniterra provided exceptional customer service. Their showroom had a beautiful stone and marble selection. The staff were professional, prompt for tear out and installation, maintained costs within our budget, and completed the job in a timely manner. I will definitely, and already have recommended Graniterra to friends and colleagues.

**★★★ — Nancy Francis Design, Aug. 2014**

> My sales person worked very hard to come up with the right cabinet wood stain color and design for our project and the Woodmode cabinets are lovely; but I found the customer follow-up service lacking after the cabinets were delivered. There was one mistake in the layout that the salesman corrected. He tried to up charge me on an item but I foresaw that coming and had my detailed paper work to back up my position. The delivery truck tore a large limb off a tree on the street and he tried to get me to pay the $200 fine the City wanted from the truck driver but I was so irritated by then I said no. My salesman was trying very hard to make me happy but it was his back office manager that was the problem. I do not know if that man is still there. I would keep all of your notes and contracts and double check you costs. Plus, I would get some details on what happens after the cabinets are delivered. It is a lot of money so they should be getting it perfect.

**Comment from Graniterra:**

> We are very surprised and disappointed to read your review about your experience back in 2010. We strive for superior service and we come close, as you can see from our A+ BBB rating, and Angie's list ratings, as well as other sites which require non-anonymity. Regarding your comment about the truck: this would not have been a Graniterra truck nor employee. It would have been a Wood-Mode truck and you should have contacted them about the situation. Your anonymity & time lapse since this project, make it difficult to respond about specifics in your case or reach out to you. We're sorry you felt you did not have a 5 star experience. We try to go above and beyond to make our customers happy.

**★★★★★ — fixmycrib, April 2014**

> Graniterra provided unique choices in stone slabs that I found no where else. They provided superior showroom assistance, templating, and installation work. I would not hesitate to choose them again or recommend them to others.

**★★★ — lauraherz, Feb. 2014**

> The design team is great, tear out and install were completed in a timely manner but have a couple of marks on the granite which the company is working on fixing, scheduled a day with me for the repair and then didn't show up or call.

**★★★★★ — June, Oct. 2013**

> I have had the pleasure of working with Graniterra on five projects over the last eight years. I have used them to install granite kitchen countertops, bathroom countertops, fireplaces and a breakfront for my dining room during the renovation of my previous home in 2006. The owner, Alex Elzein, and his team were so incredible that I called on him again in 2009 when we built our new home. They installed granite kitchen countertops and bathroom countertops throughout the house. They also installed onyx on the walls and floor of my fireplace. On the main floor they ordered and installed special large travertine tiles.
>
> In 2010, I brought Graniterra back in to redo my own companies' office kitchen and three bathrooms with granite countertops and all-wood cabinets. In 2012, Graniterra finished my lower level with all cabinetry, knobs, and granite, including a 28-foot granite bar, kitchen area, two bathrooms, and a theatre room.
>
> My son is now redoing his kitchen and is using Graniterra as well.
>
> Alex Elzein and his team have exceeded my expectations with their attention to detail and customer service. After looking at several stone companies I found Graniterra to have the biggest collection of one-of-a-kind stones Alex tells me he travels the world looking for the most unusual and interesting stone available.
>
> I can honestly say I didn't have any problems or concerns over my many projects with them. They were respectful, courteous and did exactly what they told me they would do. They were always prompt in getting back with me. I can't recommend them enough. My husband and I continue to get compliments from customers and friends on ALL of our stones.
>
> For each project, Graniterra provided the highest quality products on the market, superb workmanship, and outstanding customer service. They earned my repeat business every step of the way. I highly recommend Graniterra for your next home project.

**★★★★★ — prussianiusa, June 2012**

> They provided limestone and tile design and coping for a landscape and pool project. Their design ideas were extremely helpful and fabricated the custom material within 4 days. Very Professional and they have a beautiful kitchen and bath showroom on Manchester Road.

 - Description: An 1897 home near the historic Tower Grove Park of St. Louis called for a polished kitchen with a flair to reflect the unique character of the home. Kabinart’s Hampton Maple with Aspen White Finish makes a calm statement by complementing the tall ceiling, pops of color, and Bianco Antico and Marron Cohiba granite countertops by Graniterra. ## Community Q&A

**Q: HELP! This fireplace needs a makeover!** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I am working to redesign this fireplace. I know most put the TV above but not sure I want to do this since the ceilings are only 8ft. Mantel will be removed. I was thinking of refacing the brick with a fabulous stone and rebuilding the side bookcases with some glass shelves. The bottom built-ins would be removed and shortened to about 12-18" with doors. Your thoughts and ideas are greatly appreciated.

A: If you want to go light & bright white washing would be nice. Using some mirrored surfaces behind the shelves would add some glamour. If that's too much for you pick a beautiful paint color to pop out of the background of the shelving. Editing & adding a few interesting decorative pieces on the shelves will give it a whole new look!

**Q: What color or the stain is it? What wood is it?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: The wood is Cherry & the stain is called Fireside. There is a black glaze applied which really shows off the details in the panels & moldings. Also, it's a bit hard to see in the picture but there are panel inserts with a herringbone pattern (the 2 panels in the bottom right). I hope this helps!

**Q: Beautiful kitchen! Could you please tell me what you used for the countertops? Thanks!** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: I believe you are referring to the brown colored top in the foreground. It is a wood top.

**Q: lighting** *(in Photo Questions)*

Can you please share the lighting information I love them

A: Lamps Plus also. They have a few stores but I shop their online store.

**Q: Can you share more information on the lighting fixture above sink?** *(in Photo Questions)*

The sleek lines and contrasting colors make this an interesting room. The lighting fixtures make the room cohesive. Can you provide information on where to find these?

A: You can find them at Lamps Plus.

**Q: Help** *(in Photo Questions)*

What is on the wall behind the glass bowl on the cabinet?

A: It is a white mosaic tile. With a chandelier in front of it, it reflects nicely.
