**★★★★★ — Down To Earth Landscapes, Inc., Feb. 2020**

> Bruce Garcia of Garcia Rock and Water Design is simply top notch in his field. He is one of the few people that I work with that actually delivers what they promise and then some. Thank you. It is refreshing to work with you. Your design and installation of ponds, waterfalls, and custom fountains are the best in Santa Barbara. You should know that your work ethics are appreciated.

**★★★★★ — Susan Jorgensen, Nov. 2016**

> Bruce Garcia has it all: process and product. He has the vision and passion of an artist, the knowledge of water systems of a gifted engineer, and the calm temperament of wise sage. He is a pleasure to work with and will follow through with any ideas or issues long after the landscape has been transformed.

**★★★★★ — HU-157257, Oct. 2016**

> Mr Garcia not only did an amazing job renovating our Koi pond, he and his team were complete professionals in every sense. I was so happy with their work, I had them design other scenes at our house where they used their artistic skills arranging rocks within our landscape. We are completely happy with this company.

**★★★★★ — William Kendall, Oct. 2016**

> Absolutely the best and most creative waterscape designer around!
> Bruce was recommended by my friend, who builds very high end houses in Santa Barbara and the Santa Ynez valley.
> Our project was a high priced office-condominium project that needed a water feature to highlight the entrance and parking area.
> Bruce nailed the design and installation and it is now a showcase property in our area

**★★★★★ — User, Oct. 2016**

> Professional, Artistic, Ethical, Goes the extra mile on every project. You will love working with Bruce Garcia. He thinks outside the box and makes sure every detail is covered. His workmen are polite and always tidy.

**★★★★★ — Cindy Ortiz, Oct. 2016**

> Garcia Rock and Water Design created an amazing koi pond for my back yard. Bruce is creative and professional and was able to take my ideas and turn them into a wonderful water feature. I would recommend him for any project.

**★★★★★ — Steve Scheftic, Oct. 2016**

> Bruce & his crew built a beautiful pond in our front yard. It was even better than I expected. He was very knowledgeable and easy to deal with during the whole experience of the layout & building of the pond. if I didn't see him do some of the faux boulders I wouldn't be able to figure out which ones were real or not. The natural bog gravel filtration system still works beautifully today. Bruce is an aficionado of ponds and everything that goes along with it.

**★★★★★ — Bruce Martin, Oct. 2016**

> Bruce was referred to me by someone who said, "he is a real artist". I couldn't agree with that statement more except to add, I've never worked with anyone so calm and unflappable either. Bruce is a professional gifted with artistic abilities willing to go the extra mile to make you happy. I have referred him to family members I am so confident of his ability to deliver. Unfortunately, the landscaping around the pond isn't completed to show it off in the attached pictures

**★★★★★ — amybrex, Oct. 2016**

> We were on a tight budget but had a big dream. Bruce and Adrian blew us away with fantastic results. They were always on time, incredibly friendly and respectful of our home and the neighbors. They left our place neat and clean as it could be each day and turned what we used to call our "pit of despair" into it what now looks like a high-end resort. I highly recommend Bruce and Adrian for any water or rock-related feature in your home or yard. They are not ordinary contractors but artists and master craftsmen. They took the time to make sure that we were really happy with everything. Anything that needed to be tweaked, they tweaked it. Nothing was left in a state of questionable completion.
>
> Of utmost importance, is how they listened to our dream and understood what we really wanted. They participated in the design process so that we got a result even better than we envisioned.
>
> We are so grateful that we were able to find them and would be more than happy to give you a personal tour of our yard if you would like to see the work for yourself. Have Bruce give us a call and we'll work it out.

**★★★★★ — Acanthus Design-Denise Woolery, Dec. 2012**

> Bruce Garcia of Garcia Rock and Water Design took my design for an elaborate and huge waterfall and stream and manifested it into reality. He is a real pro, and he did the work beautifully and on time! He and his crew worked diligently to meet a break-neck deadline, and the results are spectacular!

**★★★★★ — 1951pbe, Nov. 2012**

> I have been planting and doing maintenance on the ponds of many estates in the Santa Barbara area for over 22 years. Bruce Garcia is the only pond builder who I recommend . I am Always pleased with his work and find that the artificial rocks he creates are quite natural in appearance. He has done some amazing projects!!

## Community Q&A

**Q: Where can I buy a similar type fountain?** *(in Photo Questions)*

I'm in the Phoenix AZ area.

A: Eye of The Day
4620 Carpinteria Ave,
Carpinteria, CA 93013
(805) 566-6500

**Q: WHAT IS THE SIZE OF THIS POND?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: This pond is approximately thirty feet wide by sixty feet long by about two and a half feet deep.
This pond is at the end of a stream we built that is about one hundred feet long.
Here are a couple of photos showing: the last waterfall going into the pond and, a section of the creek.

**Q: This cave was man made?** *(in Photo Questions)*

Was this a natural feature or was it "created" somehow?

A: Man-made Cave with a Ten Foot High Waterfall.
We built this cavern with a waterfall using GFRC rock panels. I was standing on a faux rock bridge that spans a pond inside the cave which was created for the client to drive his golf cart across, though the cave and behind the waterfall.

**Q: Awesome!** *(in Photo Questions)*

How deep is the pond? Also, I don't see any fountain so how is algae buildup prevented?

Oh yeah, and who the heck gets to have this as part of their private yard??? ;))

A: Actually, I do not. We built the pond only and a carpenter built the dock.
Built in 2009, my recollection of the dimensions: 15' L x 5' W (see pics attached)
In one of the pictures you can see a shovel which is about 5' in length.

**Q: Secret of growing water lily** *(in Photo Questions)*

Wow, so pretty. My didn't get to blossom and it's already winter:(. Does it matter how big or deep the pond/water is?

A: Typically a Lotus plant grows and blooms well if the roots have plenty of room to spread.
18" to 24" of dirt depth with the roots submerged (about 6" of water over the top of the dirt)
