When I moved I called them to create my new pond in Clermont.  They harboured our Koi fish and took care of them until my new pond was built. > Dave and Lisa at Backyard Getaway have completed a number of outdoor projects at our home. The waterfall that Dave built on the side of our pond is amazing. It even includes a pondless waterfall on one side. He also constructed a deck and dock in front of our gazebo. There is a lighted pathway between the gazebo and waterfall. Also, beside the waterfall is a firepit with sitting boulders. Our front yard looks like something from a magazine. I can't believe it is my front yard! Dave also installed a huge bird aviary for my peacocks. It is wonderful. Lisa is always professional and goes out of her way for their clients. ## Community Q&A

**Q: barred owl ate 9 koi!** *(in Koi Ponds)*

my koi are all gone! They've been in this pond for about three years. I saw the culprit the other night...he was sitting on a Japanese maple right next to koi pond,waiting to see if there were any morsels left in the pond!! 
I was up on the deck and he looked straight at me and flew away. 
So do you think I should add fish next summer? or is this a waste of time? I usually have the mesh over the pond but forgot for a few nights. I left the mesh off all of last winter and never once had an issue.....
I loved my koi....they sat lined up in the colder water and I just miss them.....

A: Do you have a place for your Koi to hide in the pond? Try creating a cave for them using a couple cement blocks topped with a piece of flagstone or a milk crate turned on it's side. You should also check out the Contech Scarecrow. It is a motion sensor device and it does a great job at keeping many types of predators from eating your fish.
