Thank you Jerry, Kevin, Kimberlin, Scott, David, Eric, Tony and everyone else that worked on our place! My Wife and I on a daily Basis comment to each other how great it is and how happy we were with the process. We started the process in March of 2018, we moved out as it was almost a complete remodel in July of 2018 understanding that with an anticipated 13 weeks to completion it could go longer, which we were OK with. The best surprise was that we were moved back in by week 14. They communicated every week with the process and which contractors were in the condo each week. Since we live in a condo we always receive communication about the workers in the building and responsiveness to noise or issues that come up, They passed with flying colors as we received nothing but positive comments about their politeness and professionalism. > Our project included 2 bathrooms a kitchen and a new lounge are that was created from an old closet and unused storage space and increased our doors from standard to 96 inches. The project required significant demolition and carpentry. While they had their own team for Cabinets electricians and carpentry they outsourced some specialized features. Coordinating with our Concrete floor contractor, Tile 360,Custom Metal island cloud as well as a walnut island surround. > We are extremely happy with everything from the Quality, Professionalism, Timeliness and Adaptiveness of the team. The upside of DK is that you work with one project manager, which, if you tackled a project like this on your own (managing sub-contractors etc), could turn into an overwhelming project. Just like on the TV shows dealing with remodels, there’s always going to be a “surprise” and some technical challenges, but in the end, you have to judge DK on their communication, attention to detail, and willingness to deliver an outstanding (& beautiful) product. No detail was left unturned! You deal with 1 designer and 1 project manager. They order and schedule everything for you...and i mean EVERYTHING so your schedule is not inconvenienced. They provided excellent air circulation during construction, were always friendly, always cleaned up after themselves, listened to our questions/concerns and answered every single one quickly. They were generous with their time. If we couldn't make a decision on a paint color or door knob our designer would be over the next day to walk us through options and help us create solutions. They contacted us often to make sure we were comfortable with the schedule, the progress, the staff etc. I cannot recommend them enough! Our first meeting was with the owner, Keven Schmidt, and Mary Steeno, a designer. None of the other remodeling companies offered as much in initial meetings and we were not exactly sure of what needed to be done so very appreciative of all suggestions made. We feel this company is like the Gold Standard, keeping everything running smoothly and verifying with us each step of the way. We lived in our home during the remodel which allowed us to see first hand their craftsmanship and allowing us more control on what was happening at the time. We also appreciated that most workers are also employees of Dream (with the exception of plumbing and carpet/tile install) which made them very responsive to our questions and concerns. > > What impressed us most is the cabinetry, which was perfect and if any mar found, it was immediately removed and replaced. It was custom made in every sense and allowed us to choose 'frameless' cabinets, which are more efficient with greater storage. We didn't realize this initially, but noticed that only Lutron electrical switches are used. which is high end, giving us a dimmer on every primary switch for every light. Our project was the renovation/remodeling of our families 100 year old farm house. One half of the house (kitchen, hearth room with new wood burning fireplace, half bath, laundry room, master suite, master bath, new guest bath) was gutted and redesigned, the other half (walk in pantry, dining room, den, family room, 3 bedrooms) carefully restored. All 37 windows and 5 doors were replaced with period correct modern windows. All wood trim in the new half of the house was manufactured to match the original trim from 1910. The house had sagging floors which were raised and leveled on the 1st and 2nd floor. We wanted to keep the "farm house" feel and the designer (Connie) did a great job of pulling all our ideas together. We interviewed 3 different remodelers in the area and Dream House Dream Kitchens was by far the best....for about the same cost! What are the island and periphery countertops? and if quartz, what thickness? A: Hello! This kitchen has a 3cm Quartz counter top throughout the whole space. The color is Hanstone in Speccio White. Thank you A: The island counter top is 2CM quartz by Cambria in Darlington color. The perimeter counter is a 3CM quartz by Cambria in Oakhampton color. **Q: Cabinets** *(in Photo Questions)* Can you please tell me the paint and glaze colors (and brand) used for the cabinets? Thanks! A: The brand of Cabinets is DreamRooms Cabinetry which is our personal brand of cabinetry. The island cabinets are Kotty Alder Wood in Hermosa color. The perimeter cabinets are Maple in Cashmere color. **Q: Countertop Help Needed!** *(in Design Dilemma)* We are remodeling a Victorian farmhouse in the Pacific NW. I need help with countertop suggestions. Will probably need to use a laminate on the perimeter cabinets but I would like to use soapstone on the island. I have a farmhouse hammered copper sink, Eliane Sedona Walnut porcelain floor tile, and a wood stove from the 1930's. The walls are painted a taupe or green depending on light. Medium colored shaker cabinets & olive green island. Kitchen has lots of natural lighting. A: Amen to Shaker -- soapstone is a great choice, but you should know a little more about its properties... Soapstone comes in far fewer colors than granite and marble, and seems to be the current hot trend in kitchen remodeling. Just like granite and marble countertops, soapstone countertops are durable surfaces that do not crack easily. Soapstone has varying densities; the softer variety is used in making smaller structures like vases and goblets while the harder variety is used in making heavy-duty structures like fireplaces or countertops. Soapstone is usually dark greenish-black, although lighter green-gray slabs are also common - which would look great with your olive green island - although, personally, I would choose a slab that's a bit more of a black tone to add some contrast. Soapstone is porous, and must be sealed with mineral oil to reduce staining. Soapstone is priced comparably with mid-range granite: $90 to $150 per sq ft. Not a cheap surface, but a beautiful accent for your island. **Q: Kitchen help** *(in Design Dilemma)* Just looking for ideas on new kitchen design....... think we want white cabinets, flat style, but don't want subway tile back splash (seems as if everYone has it now)......(its a farm house renovation).......and almost want island cabinets to be another color.
