**★★★★★ — gospelpath, Aug. 2014**

> The Truro weeHouse is truly amazing. Though it derives from earlier work it carries it forward. The textured cedar boards on the side and the cantilevered porch are elegant. Absolutely beautiful.

**★★★★★ — Lightlink Lighting, Oct. 2013**

> Very impressive portfolio and perspective, especially
> Considering the reuse, repurposing aspect. It's amazing
> How many problems that is a solution to. The Marfa house
> Is really beautiful, honest and inviting. Great scale, proportions
> And feel.

  - Location: Not specified
  - Photos: 15
  - Description: Alchemy’s Sonoma weeHouse was designed in Minnesota for a client in San Francisco, built in Oregon, and shipped to its Santa Rosa, CA site 90% complete. The client, an architect himself and Apple’s Director of Store Design, was the project’s co-pilot with weeHouse founder Geoffrey Warner, Alchemy’s principal architect. This small, ultra-minimal, high-end home is based on Alchemy’s weeHouse but customized to meet the luxe finishing requirements the client requested. The prefab house is composed o…

  - Location: Not specified
  - Photos: 7
  - Description: This hybrid site- and factory-built home is part weeHouse, part barnHouse in its iconography. The project, nestled in a clearing in the woods, is a collection of three small iconographic buildings which form their own context that is, at once, both rural and urban. The sidings are corrugated painted and weathering steel, and random sawn barn siding.

- [Tree House](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/tree-house-pj-vj~7650674)
  - Location: Holderness, NH
  - Photos: 14
  - Description: The small house is metaphorically a box of trees carved into the forest next to Squam Lake (“On Golden Pond”). About the forest, it was built from the forest, with the health of future forests in mind. The Passive House envelope was prefabricated offsite using fiber-based products (and a little bit of steel). Within the oak interior grow parametric, digitally-fabricated trees that define spaces and bring in light and ventilation. The Boat House – lying, growing, built alongside – is similarly ab…

  - Location: Not specified
  - Photos: 12
  - Description: A loft-like house is carved out of the grade of a steep creekside lot, blending the margins between aged artifact and landscape. The house is about close views, inhabiting the sound of rushing water, and moving through the trees and vertical space of the New Hampshire White Mountains. Over- and under-spaces provide comfortable places to be in hot or cold, sunny or rainy weather. Exterior finishes were chosen for their durability and the ability to blend, organically over time, into the natural c…
- [Boat House](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/boat-house-pj-vj~7650668)
  - Location: Holderness, NH
  - Photos: 7
  - Description: The Boat House is a legacy trunk fallen – or growing – from the forest; a Tree, inspired by boats, Quonset huts, and longhouses, both novel and familiar. About the forest, it was built from the forest, with the health of future forests in mind. The untempered Boat House holds paddle boards, kayaks, and small sailboats. An elevated sleeping porch spans interior and exterior decks through bi-fold doors set into a greenhouse wall. A skylit tower-branch hides away a composting toilet with an adjacen…
- [Arado weeHouse](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/arado-weehouse-pj-vj~272763)
  - Location: Not specified
  - Photos: 7
  - Description: A violinist with the Minnesota Orchestra and her family enjoy off-grid living in the original weeHouse located on Minnesota prairie land near Lake Pepin. The interior is completely wrapped in douglas fir and features IKEA built-in cabinetry and kitchen elements as well as floor to ceiling Andersen windows on both sides. The exterior is clad in cementitious siding painted with an oxidizing paint which provides a rustic yet hardy finish. This original, 336 SF weeHouse was built in-factory by Geoff…
- [Klocker House](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/klocker-house-pj-vj~492310)
  - Location: Clearwater, MN
  - Photos: 8
  - Description: Set in an open country setting, the Klocker House doubles as a home office for the active homeowners. Inspired by the pole barn design, this 2300 SF structure holds 3 bedrooms, 3 baths, an office nook complete with peek-a-boo window, a floating cube loft space and many custom elements. The exterior opposing sides are painted black or sliver to emphasize the planar aspect of the building. An abstracted barn door serves as the entry and as a connection to the past.

- [Pine Plains barnHouse](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/pine-plains-barnhouse-pj-vj~6094310)
  - Location: Pine Plains, NY
  - Photos: 9
  - Description: Honoring the past while celebrating the present was paramount while designing this rural getaway in the Hudson River Valley. Using SIP (structural insulated panel) construction, Alchemy designed a 2 BR + loft, 2 bath home using rustic yet sophisticated, functional accents including steel cross ties and reclaimed barn board interior walls. The exterior is clad in locally-sourced, painted wood. Structural insulated panels (an insulating foam core sandwiched between structural facings) are a high p…
- [X weeHouse](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/x-weehouse-pj-vj~7646437)
  - Location: Ukiah, CA
  - Photos: 8
  - Description: X (weeHouse) marks the spot. The Ukiah X house is 100% off-grid: a symbol of restriction and opportunity. Designed to optimize modular construction, two modules are more than the sum of their parts. Below, 2 (or 3) bedrooms and bath(s) are sheltered by the open living unit above. The large roof above covers the stairs, controls the elements, and is an ample platform for the solar panels. The concrete foundation provides the storage for salvaged forklift batteries and Stuff. The resulting plinth…
- [Ashford weeHouse](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/ashford-weehouse-pj-vj~7649492)
  - Location: Santa Rosa, CA
  - Photos: 16
  - Description: This minimalist, modular-friendly design indicates “artists live here”. It provides for seeing all the way through the house to The View from the entry door. The 2017 Tubbs Fire erased the previous dwelling and all of its contents, all of the artists’ work. The paving and patio infrastructure needed to be preserved for practical and permitting reasons. Two boxes conceptually make up the plan: one public box, wrapped in a custom formed copper, for the kitchen + dining + living rooms, and one priv…

- [Whitney Lofts Renovation](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/whitney-lofts-renovation-pj-vj~491138)
  - Location: Minneapolis, MN
  - Photos: 15
  - Description: Light + White Space: The strategy to combine the designers’ white-page palette for the space with a sense of light by creating visual pathways between grand columns. An 11′ x 15′ white “house” serves as a guest room with bath as well as an understandable interruption of the open floor plan. Owned by relocated New Yorkers who are also award-winning graphic designers, this live-work space was especially chosen for its historical roots. Previously it was a hotel kitchen as well as the old head-race…
- [Johnson Creek weeHouse](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/johnson-creek-weehouse-pj-vj~491162)
  - Location: Honesdale, PA
  - Photos: 6
  - Description: This 2,200 SF, 3BR, 3 bath retreat home consists of a larger main unit accommodating most daily activities and a smaller sleeping tower. Both units are connected by an elevated patio bridge component. The main unit’s upper level is designed to allow for numerous vista points and provides an almost complete immersion into the spectacular setting of the heavily wooded site.
- [Little Wolf weeHouse](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/little-wolf-weehouse-pj-vj~7649499)
  - Location: Manawa, WI
  - Photos: 8
  - Description: Big; in 800 square feet. And built for only $225K (in Little Wolf, WI 2020, complete). In an exercise of less-is-more, the minimalist black steel box is carved out to reveal a white “barn-wood” porch. The interior is made rich by the insertion of other boxes. A birchwood box contains the private spaces and squeezes out to embrace a black kitchen-utility box. A birch recess on the side of the living room encases a sitting nook with more storage. Heavy duty lift-slide doors provide insulation and…

  - Location: Moab, UT
  - Photos: 10
  - Description: Alchemy is excited to produce the first—of what will likely be many—net zero weeHouses incorporating the best sustainable practices. This Moab, UT home is a quiet, hovering, oxidized box that is visually absorbed in its red-rock desert landscape. Inside, a cool, luxurious bamboo interior surrounds an elegant kitchen and bath. It’s a beautifully detailed modern design that makes the most of prefab technology while being built for remote delivery. Water recycling, passive solar, solar electric and…
