How does an ordained Catholic priest transform himself into a highly sought after home designer? Ask Rick Doten – a Man of the Cloth, in more ways than one.

In his early 20s, Doten entered St. John's Seminary. “I cherish my years as a priest. But there were too few color choices.”

So he opened his own very successful special events company. Rick now turns 
his clever eye towards designing home interiors and exteriors for tony residences

> Rick acted not only as my designer but also as project manager for the entire project.  He is able to be creative and intuitive while still being definitive and concrete.  Communication skills are excellent.  I will gladly  work with Rick on another project.

A: They are 80's patio furniture, with powdercoating to update.

**Q: Love the mosaic!** *(in Photo Questions)*

Did you lay the mosaic first then the cement? Or lay the cement leaving room for the mosaic? Looks tricky but magical.

A: scale stencils made and positioned on ground to get correct placement.  then wooden forms, lots of labor. finally cement pour around the forms.  then a lower level of cement poured inside of forms.  much work just to get to mosaic.

A: All mosaic done as one project.

A: Piece on the wall by artist Darlene Graeser.  "Crash Test Buddha".

Love the table. Can you give details about it?

A: The table is made from reclaimed Peroba wood.  Hardwood with lots of textural variations.  In Los Angeles available from Environment Furniture.
