I sent him very detailed plans and made sure that he knew exactly what we wanted for our June/July install. I asked for a quote - he said not to worry and quoted me over the phone for $9k for my kitchen island and my powder. I came in today and he said, first off, the original price is now going to be $12k+ for my kitchen island. Then he said it would be additional for the powder room. Then digging into it more, he said he made a mistake and forgot to include the backsplash (which I highlighted on the phone and in the plans, twice). Umit is a crook. I understand rising costs, but he low-balled to reel me in and now I have to scramble to find another fabricator.
