We put 50% down on the sofa amounting to thousands of dollars. with expected delivery in April 2020. In March we faced a shutdown due to the pandemic and were very understanding of any delays. We did not expect April delivery and were hopeful for late summer. What we did expect is the return of phone calls or emails with some kind of information as to the status of our order in the summer. Dozens of phone calls and emails went unanswered and on the rare occasion we were able to speak with someone, they had no information for us. In December after physically going to the store to speak with someone since calls and emails went unanswered, we were told the sectional was on a truck in North Carolina a the Lee warehouse. Supposedly the truck was waiting to be filled before it could be released. By January 1 we had had enough of being strung along by Lillian August and requested that they return our deposit. Eleven months had passed since our original order, they had thousands of our dollars, and we had nothing to show for it. Thankfully on 1/8/2021 we received our money back. We also found out, by calling Lee directly, that Lillian August is on a credit hold. This explains why we never received our sectional and never would. Be warned. The trendy looking storefront is like the Emperor's New Clothes, a complete facade. **★ — Erin Heide, Aug. 2020** > I bought a couch from Lillian August in early February 2020 with a projected initial delivery of early June. When the pandemic hit, it was understandable that that delivery date wasn't going to be met given the disruption in manufacturing, but I never received any proactive update from Lillian August on the status of manufacturing or a potential new delivery estimation. I tried to get back in touch with them as the initial delivery date approached but I wasn't able to get a response from anyone until a month later. Additionally, this wasn't someone finally responding to my many emails, I was only able to get a response after incessant phone calls and an insistence on speaking with someone who could give me an answer on the status of our couch. At that time I was told the target completion was early August. It is now early August (i.e. 6 weeks later) and I'm once again struggling to contact anyone and get an update. **★★★★★ — Linda LaCorte, June 2017** > William Lyon was my salesmen over the phone. I found the kitchen chairs on their web site and I wasn't sure if the wood would match and not sure about the height and leg room. I sent pics to William and he assured me it would match and be the right height for comfort(I hate when you can't cross your legs under the table)! William is as wonderful as my chairs, I love them both. The best part is they arrived early, I think William had something to do with that. William is incredibly gifted when it comes to design - it's obvious that it just comes naturally to him, like a sixth sense. He can look at a room and know just what it needs...what furniture, what size, what shape, what texture, color, etc. He is great fun to work with, and is also very detail oriented, organized and professional. He never forgets to follow up. What I particularly like is that he helps me decorate in a way that is financially sound....he doesn't recommend things that aren't needed, and helps me figure out the most impactful way to spend money. I have recommended him to friends; he's a gem. **★★★★★ — Heidi Naughton, Nov. 2016** > For the past 24 months I have been working with Lillian August on a 12,000 square foot house in Northern Vermont. I began working with the design team of Nancy Galasso and Richard Cerrone while the house was still very much “under construction”. In fact, a great deal of our work was done with architectural blue prints and pictures of incredibly raw unfinsihed spaces. Nancy and Richard were able to see beyond the construction dust to what could be and capture the vision of the finished project. Their guidance and suggestions from finishes to light fixtures to furniture has resulted in a finished product that has exceeded our wildest dreams. I chose to work with Lillian August because I have always been a huge fan of their retail and design space in Norwalk, CT. Many of the pieces in my home in Connecticut were culled from their showroom on a piece by piece basis. However, knowing that I needed to furnish a 12,000 sq ft. completely empty house proved a task too daunting for me alone. I selected Lillian August and the design team of Nancy and Richard because I knew that I could find almost all that I was looking for under one roof. I loved the mix of new pieces and one of a kind finds that are carefully curated under the watchful eye of John Weiss. Many a time I would see the Lillian August tags on pieces that I loved at antique shows around the northeast and it was always fun to see a piece that I had loved in the fields at Brimfield show up in the gorgeous design space at Lillian August. It was also helpful to have the most amazing selection of rugs and carpet anywhere – Kenny and Danny in the rug department were amazing at helping make selections, sourcing product, and patiently working with rug installers to make sure I got exactly what I wanted throughout the house. In addition to the rugs, the window treatments were all created and hung by the team at Lillian August and enhance each room with both beauty and function. Nancy and Richard put together a stunning array of furniture and accessories for each space, combining my love of “found” objects with new pieces and creating a look that is uniquely me but at the same time beautiful and current. Each time I walk into our home I am blown away by the beauty and comfort of every room. The process was never overwhelming or intidimadating, Nancy and Richard made sure that my voice was heard, they never pushed product on me that wasn’t right for the space or simply considered “must have”. As the project wraps up I will miss my weekly design meetings with the team and am lucky to now consider Richard and Nancy as two new friends. I know that we will continue to work together on future projects as well as the evolution of our home in Vermont. I cannot recommend Lillian August highly enough for their service, follow through, selection and vast variety of resources from case goods to lighting fixutres.
