## About

### Houzz Badges

- 1,000 Ideabook Saves

With over a half century of combined experience, Acadia has overseen the design and installation of countless landscapes throughout East Tennessee—and that's just the beginning.

We have tutored under master gardeners in England, been awarded "Best of Show" for our exhibits, and most importantly, we have learned through our own experiences that success is measured by customer satisfaction. Acadia Landscape achieves a superior level of customer satisfaction by working with each client to achieve their landscaping vision.

We have solid experience with traditional stone/brick hardscapes, and
equally so with new hardscape technology like Belgard® paving systems. Our extensive network of nurseries gives us the ability to pick the specific field your plants come from, ensuring specimen-quality plants each time.

We aim to help each client create a landscape that is visually pleasing, has
little to no impact on the surrounding environment, and one that ultimately
adds value to their property.

> Loved working with Acadia. When we were looking for a company that had the expertise to install a permeable paver system to replace our crumbling driveway, Acadia was one of 3 in the greater Knoxville area that had the expertise and experience to do the work. Based on the other projects they've completed in the area, estimate and when they could schedule the work, we hired them. They completed the job on time and within budget. We've had the new driveway in place for almost 2 years and it we've had no problems with it. The look is beautiful, adds to the value of our home, and supports the environment. I wish more people would use the permeable paver system! I highly recommend Acadia for any landscape project you might be contemplating.

> Acadia Landscape helped transform our home . First we had them bring in additional soil to build up and sculpt the yard, and then they put sod down in the early Spring and also overseeded. It is now July and the grass looks beautiful. They also put in new flower beds, and a hedge row of yews. The plants they acquired for us were very high quality and we were pleased with the size. We had over 20 planted and all are healthy and doing great. They also put down a bunch of boards on the driveway to keep it clean when they were adding the dirt, which was appreciated. It only took them about 2 days to do the work.

> I have been highly remiss in not providing information on the services I received from Acadia Landscaping this past spring (~end of March through April). But it has also allowed me to have a 5-month long evaluation period to live with the final product. The conclusion is that Phil and his crew built a 568 sq. ft. brick paver patio for us that is highly functional, yet it also qualifies as a work of art.
> Phil was very thorough in determining the configuration we desired and the materials we wanted to use. We settled on small brick pavers and he developed a finished design that is reflective of what we hoped to achieve. One aspect that I love is that the patio looks as if it was built when the house was built because of the excellent integration with the surrounding structure and environment. The patio butts up against two cement pads for two different rear entrances and with a screened porch on one side, and a five-foot retaining wall on the other. It includes precisely cut brick sections surrounded by bricks laid in a circular pattern around each section. Also, we wanted the patio to include a pergola on which to grow a 12-year old trumpet vine. The pergola measures 10 ft. tall by 6 ft. wide by 4 ft. deep. I picked the design out on the internet after looking at over 500 examples and images.
> We had a number of delays because of spring rain totals that were way beyond the norm, but Phil managed to schedule his guys between the rainier days to start and keep the job on an acceptable pace. Acadia did not employ mere laborers for this work; it was obvious that this was a crew of craftsmen and artisans. Their attention to detail and the preciseness of their work methods was on display throughout the job. They used a high-speed saw to cut the bricks after they were laid, and the results are unique and highly pleasing to the eye. Also they did a thorough clean up job and y refilled the tracks in the yard from the bulldozer. The grass they planted grew very well with weekly watering and is still in good shape, even after the hot summer months this year.
> I could not be happier about the final product. Phil designed the patio to flow all water away from the house when it rains. It drains very effectively even In downpours, and we?ve had many this year. Also, I?m a gardener and grow many plants from seed in ornamental pots every spring. I?ve had a chance to integrate all kinds of potted annuals and wild flowers of various types throughout the patio. The combination of the patio and these many plants is stunning. I also can?t believe the great job they did with the pergola ? again, another work of art. It is built with timbers that are not dark and thick, but instead light and sleeker than most other pergolas I have seen. It is structurally sound and the overall effect is almost oriental in appearance. I?m still astounds me that Phil could take a 2-inch by 1-inch image of a pergola and have his crew faithfully reproduce it. My trumpet vine has had a great year growing over the top of the pergola and I used the lattice sides to grow other types of vines and prop up my sun flowers .
> Every time someone visits who has not been to our house since the patio was built, they rave over it. In fact, we always end up sitting outside because it draws people to do so. Unlike past summers on our screened porch (not enough breezes since it?s against the house), we have sat out 2 out of every 3 evenings this summer. It helps that the northeast side of the patio is shady by ~5:30 pm and there is typically a breeze.
> I always recommend Acadia to everyone who inquires and will continue to do so. I would hire Phil and his crew anytime I needed landscaping-related work. They are excellent.
> Do's
> Use a can of spray paint to outline of the patio you desire. This approach ensures that everyone's on the same page relative to expectations and the final product.
> If your plan includes cutting brick, move all plants and other items away from the work area. When high-speed saws cut brick, the dust goes everywhere and coats everything in the vicinity.

## Community Q&A

**Q: Are there any more pictures of this water feature?** *(in Photo Questions)*

I'm interested in incorporating a large water feature like this into my yard and possibly turning it into a large spa or something that could be swam in.

A: David, We did this project about 8-9 years ago. I may have some more pictures but would need to do some digging. We work very closely with a local pool company and could design something to fit your vision. This water feature was installed with a pond liner. If you want to swim in your water feature it would need to be gunite instead of pond liner.
