I AM WONDERING THIS FOR BATHROOM AND KITCHEN LIGHTS I KNOW A 300 WATT OR 400 WATT ABOVE MY KITCHEN TABLE IS BRIGHT I DON'T KNOW HOW WATTAGES COMPARE WITH OTHER LIGHTS, A: Many bathrooms are set up with several bulbs above the mirror in order to cast more even light. Typically I see 3-5 bulbs spaced out above the mirror that provide 800-1000 lumens each, though I have seen some special make up mirrors with 5-8 lower lumen bulbs on each side. 4000 lumens should be plenty but you will want that spread between several bulbs and you may want to spurge on "daylight" bulbs (or something similar) so that you will be able to see how your makeup will look outside. **Q: Pros and Cons of Bathroom Countertop Materials** *(in Other)* Redoing my master bath. Don't know the pros and cons to granite, marble, and manmade materials like caesarstone. A: Granite has a high ascetic appeal and is quite durable, it comes in just about any color you want but some variations can be pricy. It has to be sealed every few years to keep its stain resistance but it is naturally heat and ding resistant. Marble is a classic material with a timeless look which makes many people think of luxury. It is a relatively soft material however and is more prone to stains and wear than most other alternatives. It is better suited to more ornamental locations and as accents rather than counters. Engineered quartz (caesarstone) is the most durable and stain resistant of the three. Its cost has gone down to be comparable to granite but the variety, while increasing, may not fit every style.
