It is a dark brown granite with large flakes of mika. We were thrilled to source a gorgeous specimen of it for this installation. Typically speaking, the Venetian plaster is applied on top of the dry wall, like a paint product would be, so it can be used in most bathroom dry areas (ceiling and walls). However, it is not recommended for the wet areas of the bathroom, such as the shower or the tub. We would normally recommend a tile or stone product for these areas. With that being said, depending on the configuration of the shower, ventilation system and some other key factors, a Venetian plaster look might be possibly using a water resistant paint on a shower ceiling only, but certainly not on the walls in the shower. Again, this would depend on a lot of key details being suitable for this design decision. We hope this addresses your question. Robbin, Inside Inc. **Q: Who made the staircase?** *(in Photo Questions)* A: Hello Kimberly, I have been doing some research for you in trying to find answers to your questions, but I am not having much luck. Gayla remembers that it was a local metal works company that the contractor used to make the stairway. She also remembers that the vent hood was a ready made model as opposed to a custom made one. Since that project finished up about 8 years ago, there is good chance that the hood is not available anymore. I was unable to find more specific information for the hood or the stairs in our records. I did a little research and found out that we ordered the table base from a "trade only" showroom where we were able to select the beautiful finish that you see.
