  - Description: This project is located on the upper two floors of an 18 story building with sweeping views of Boston. The clients purchased two 1800 square foot units as almost completely empty shells. The firm was charged with the task of developing this space into a two level penthouse home. The project was a challenge due to existing window, and plumbing locations. The living room, with its soaring skylight and iron and bronze rail, is the focal point of the residence. In the end, the firm was able to trans…

  - Description: This building, once a private home, was designed in the Italian Renaissance style. It was converted to condominiums with only the lower floors retaining their original ornamentation. Prior to our involvement, the upper floor, pictured here, had been gutted and made contemporary. Judge Skelton Smith redesigned the 3800 square-foot space in keeping with the original building vocabulary. Everything pictured is new. The finished product is a tour-de-force for what can be accomplished when the origin…

  - Description: Boston, in the 1920s, had a wealth of buildings designed in European styles. This project, located in a Venetian Palazzo on the flat of Beacon Hill, is yet another example of a sensitive renovation by Judge Skelton Smith Architects. All antique elements were preserved, while providing a plan for contemporary living. The roof deck even boasts a lap pool with wave motion!

## Community Q&A

**Q: Can you tell me the wattage and the metal for this lamp?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: Hi Violai, unfortunately, this is from a project that was completed over 10 years ago, so I do not recollect the manufacturer of this pendant nor its wattage. The metal appears to be a burnished brass finish, but again, I cannot be sure.
Thanks for your interest!

**Q: Doors** *(in Photo Questions)*

Love these doors! Where are they from?

A: The millwork shown was custom designed for this project by Judge Skelton Smith. We appreciate your question!
