> My contractor used TEC power grout and it failed to harden after curing for over 3 weeks before it got wet. They tried to remove it (yep, black grout dust ALL OVER) but when they reapplied a new layer of grout, it still didn’t harden all the way. TEC sent a rep to my house with acrylic hardener that was supposed to be a permanent fix, but after less than 3 months, it’s just peeling off. Even if my contractor messed something up on all 3 colors in 3 locations, it seems crazy that TEC grout could be that finicky and temperamental. No stars for this grout!

**Q: Experience with TEC Power Grout not curing?** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Has anyone experienced TEC Power Grout not immediately curing? Our shower and backsplash are subway tile with grey grout (I think it was called Delorean Grey), while the floor is a basket weave with the same grey grout. After a month, it's not fully cured. When wet, you can scratch out the grout with a fingernail. We're having the grout between the subway tiles removed. The floor will be a much more onerous job. I've heard that with wetting the grout 7 days and then giving it another month or so, it may cure. Has anyone experienced this issue? Did your grout eventually cure and did you do anything with it while waiting for it to cure? Thanks.

I don't like the color of the grout, please advice how should I remove the grout and what color should I put, thank you

A: If you don't like the color of the grout, try something like TEC Design FX crystal grout. It makes the grout look non-existent and places the focus on the tile. You would have to use a grout saw to get the existing grout out, though. Both products are available at Lowe's.
