> Thank you so much! We are happy that you are so satisfied with your home!

**★★★★★ — Jaeger & Ernst Custom Cabinetmakers, Nov. 2017**

> Jaeger & Ernst cabinetmakers has worked and known Smith & Robertson since almost their inception. Glenn is an extremely creative builder with an eye for esthetics and quality. They are committed to the client's budget, desires and quality. As builders they are amongst the very bests. Many of their craftsman have been with the company for years. In construction experience matters at a job site. Reliable, honest, creative and competent craftsman manage each job site. We consider our selves fortunate to have opportunities to work with this fine builder.

**★★★★★ — Appalachian Woods, March 2016**

> Smith & Robertson have been a valuable customer over the past few years. Our dealings with them have been top notch. They have purchased numerous items including lumber, beams and reclaimed flooring. The photos you see here on Houzz speak to the quality of their work.

**★★★★★ — User, Nov. 2014**

> I'll start by saying we would do it again. That's about the best recommendation one can offer. The craftsmanship of the post and beam speaks for itself. The craftsmen at Smith & Robertson receive great satisfaction from their work and it shows. The most impressive part of the construction project - it was done long distance. The owners were in Tokyo and New York, the project was in Earlysville. The owners were on site less that one week over the entire life of the project. So, trust was essential and the results speak for themselves - a lovely home on the side of a mountain overlooking the Shenandoah National Park. Well done!

> Smith and Robertson helped design our home and provided invaluable design assistance as well as superior craftsmanship throughout all phases of construction. Their work consistantly exceeded our expectations, all promises were kept and the project was completed on time. I have no hesitation about recommending them to anyone who is interested in finding a company of true craftsmen who take pride in the work they perform.

**★★★★★ — Fred Abbey, Nov. 2014**

> Glen has an amazing ability to listen and design with detail around what we wanted to achieve. He was a great source of ideas, creativity and attention to practical details. He is an outstanding communicator and very accountable for deadlines and budgets. His people are outstanding.
> We would use Smith and Robertson again should we build another home.

**★★★★★ — Tom, Nov. 2014**

> Custom French country home. Great experience from start to finish... Still getting " likes" on the project pics. Tons of comments on the quality and design.

**★★★★★ — druplus4, Nov. 2014**

> While our family lived overseas, S&R completed a complete renovation of our existing family home. Although separated by thousands of miles, S&R maintained constant communication and professionalism throughout the project.

**★★★★★ — kellygirl25, Nov. 2014**

> Glenn Robertson and his company are very professional, yet friendly and personable at the same time! It is clear that everyone's objective at Smith & Robertson is to deliver to the client exactly what the client wants. We built from the ground up using an outside architect's plans, and S&R delivered a finished product that was superb! Some builders change from easy going and accommodating to get the job, to obnoxious and going back on their promises during the job. This is not the case at all with S&R! To this day everyone is as friendly and determined to please as they were the first time we shook hands, and that is saying a lot because it took two years to build our home!
>
> We have built every house we have ever owned, and the building experience with Smith & Robertson was by far and away the gold standard for relationships with a builder!

**★★★★★ — jfsherwoodiii, Nov. 2014**

> Glenn worked on the design of our timber frame house with us and explained the options available to us so that we were able to understand all the details and make a great choice for the frame and the technique we were going to use to build it. He showed complete professionalism in his mastery of the timber framing process. He continued as our general contractor through excavation, construction of the basement and main deck, erecting the frame and construction of the roof and upstairs decks.
> Glenn was willing to work with me, allowing me as a non professional but experienced amateur carpenter to participate in a meaningful way to the frame construction, and the was willing to surrender the general contracting responsibilities to me for the remainder of the project, remaining available for several months to answer questions and help with getting contractors to work with me.
> Our house is a wonderful home, with the beauty of our Douglas Fir timber frame on display for us and our visitors to enjoy, and the quality of the work Glenn's crews provided is evident in the solidity of the house.

**★★★★★ — nardslico1, Sept. 2014**

> Smith and Robertson built a wonderful home for us . I have built several homes in the last 10 years and with out question they were the best builders ever!

**Comment from Smith & Robertson, Inc.:**

> Thank you so much. It was a real pleasure working with you; your home truly did turn out beautifully!

**★★★★★ — puptad, March 2014**

> Ron Smith and Glenn Robinson and their team are fantastic to work with in every way. They build a great house and are highly professional, as are their sub-contractors. While sensitive to detail and high standards, they are also capable of value engineering to meet a budget. Don't choose a builder without talking to Smith and Robinson.

## Community Q&A

**Q: What size pulls did you use?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: 3" standard pulls.

**Q: Great!! Mind sharing total dimensions of the living and dining room? T** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: Thanks for sharing this!

**Q: Where can I buy this corner cupboard?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: That is our clients furniture, so unfortunately we don't know. Sorry we could be of more help!

**Q: Do you know what the color of the cabinet is?** *(in Photo Questions)*

I want a color to coordinate with a darer stone tile - and I love both the cabinet color and the island base color.

A: Can't recall off hand, but I'm certain that you could ask a cabinet company to match it. Looks like it may be a simple white. I would suggest taking it to a cabinet and/or countertop company to match it. Best of luck!!

**Q: What is the depth of the cabinets in the peninsula?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: While we would love to answer this question, we aren't exactly sure. You could probably share this photo with a cabinet designer and they could likely give you a better idea, and be more specific as to what you're looking for. Thank you for your question though.

**Q: Green walls** *(in Photo Questions)*

Color and brand please

A: This color was matched to that painting above the couch. RB Painting Company was the painter. He uses both Sherwin Williams and Benjamin Moore paints. The owners were so in love with the painting, they wanted the walls to match. It's so cool what the painting suppliers can do now with custom colors!
