Having built four homes prior, the quality and personal service far exceeded my expectations. My experience dealing with Mallon Homes was extremely pleasant and satisfying. Has the knowledge and experience for building higher end residential homes and developing a unique sub-division with consistency in exterior design that allowed for individualizing within design parameters. Has an attitude of caring about people and their residences. This builder made several minor corrections and additions months after the owner moved into the home. He made a difference by allowing an etched, frosted oval bathroom window, installation of an owner supplied interior stained glass window, specialized shelving, natural stone entry and supported design accommodations for a pet dog. He meets deadlines and works well with various contractors and workers. Tim asked us to make a list of what we wanted so that he could draft a floor plan based on the things we wanted. We did. He did. And now we have a home that has everything we wanted. She made a list of everything we picked out and if there was any doubt we would always refer to Trudy's "Parts List". We had no experience with building a home so were very careful about selecting a builder. We saw homes that Tim had built and thought he had done an excellent job. A few of the reasons we chose Tim was that he is very knowledgeable, patient, exceptionally trustworthy, and every time we drove by a construction site of his he was there. He was very hands on with our home as well and was at the site daily. He does not rely exclusively on the subcontractors. In addition he was very responsive to our questions and concerns. He came in under budget and completed construction on exactly the day he said he would. Trudy helped with the interior design and was extremely knowledgeable and had very good suggestions. Tim knew our style well enough to catch issues with the design that he thought might be important to us and saved us the trouble of discovering them after the fact. Now that the construction of our home is complete and we have spent so much time with the Mallons, we think even more highly of them. We have heard lots of stories about problems with delays and budgets and shortcuts when building a home, but honestly don't have a single complaint about our experience with Tim and Trudy. This is a complex house with over 2500 ft2 of living space, two RV bays and two standard garage bays. Because we are retired, we were on-site nearly every day, all day. > He honored his commitments to the agreed cost and completion date. He was on-site nearly every day and usually for most of the day, over-seeing the sub-contractors and doing whatever was needed to keep construction moving. Several examples come to mind. Because it rained the night before the footers were to be poured, Tim was down in the trenches early in the morning bailing out water. When a crack developed in the garage floor, Tim decided to redo that section; he was right there running the jack-hammer and hauling out the concrete pieces in a wheel-barrow. When the power company was having difficulty running the main power cable through the underground conduit Tim lent some muscle and got the cable pulled. Every day Tim was doing projects just to keep the work moving forward. > The sub-contractors appreciated working for Tim, because they knew that he genuinely cared about building a quality product. Further, they knew that they would be paid in full and on time. We were astounded at the skill required to orchestrate the large number of sub-contractors in proper sequence and timing. > Tim is a perfectionist. He and two others framed the house and every stick of lumber was individually inspected by him; if it wasn’t straight, it was sent back to the lumber yard. The finish-carpenter commented that he really liked working on Tim’s houses because they were plum and true, which made his job much easier. When we ran across the Mallon Homes we were hooked at first sight. Mallon Homes were special . The workmanship and quality was abundant throughout the house.
