We knew when we started this project it was going to be difficult because of our 1920s house, but Carlson Projects made everything as easy as possible. Everyone on our team was a fantastic communicator and laid out every step of the plan clearly for us to understand where all of our money was going. We communicated the style we wanted and Heather & her team did a fantastic job of giving us ideas, but letting us have the final say with every decision. Our bathrooms are not only beautiful now, but more functional than ever. They listened carefully to our original request, and then gave us a set of images to help us visualize how the new rooms would look. They advised us on counter surfaces, flooring, lighting, color scheme, and appliances, and helped us on shopping trips to make our selections. > > Demolition of the old spaces and removal of resulting trash was efficient and considerate of our needs (we stayed in the house for most of the time, as did our two ancient cats) and they produced a minimal amount of dust and no collateral damage. They removed a wall that was not load-bearing, but for extra safety installed a laminated beam to insure structural integrity. > > The granite countertops they helped us select are beautiful and carefully fitted to the cabinets. > > The work crews that came in were friendly and efficient: cabinetry carefully made, electrical work, plumbing, floor and backsplash tiling, dry wall and painting all according to code and of excellent appearance. Inspire Slate is made from limestone and virgin resins. Consequently there is greater control over the mix and the manufacturing process. The main problems experienced with using reclaimed inconsistent raw materials are due to the lack of control in the manufacture which can result in splitting, curling, etc. There are no such problems with Inspire Slate.
