They advised me to pay by the hour as most of my projects were already started. After a review of work of needed, they nodded their head that it would be under my budget of $20,000. They sent me a contract of $/hr. Work got started within a week. 1st week, $10,000. 2nd week, $10,000. Not all projects completed yet! 3rd week, I had to stop them as I was over budget, $5,000. They came in for a "free" day to finish what they could. Closet door backwards. Hardware (my old hardware) exposed incorrectly and a big board was added to cover the upper closet hardware. They did correctly it after I showed them pictures. Now a big, ugly, board unnecessarily at the top of my closet. Since then the hardware broke and the door is unusable and needs repair. New paint shows poor coverage in some spots and will need to be redone. Now (7/12) that I am looking at the new stone placed in front of the house, I see so many gaps of unfinished mortar. A place for bugs to start a home. I wanted the projects completed before I sent my last check to DND, but Martin indicated he wanted the check right away, that day. I felt helpless and just wanted them out! I felt pressured to tell them that all was "OK." I had DND remove the glass structure and replace with a true walled room with windows and sliding door. I was concerned about having a gaping hole into our home in November- but they did a great job protecting our property from the elements during construction and they were so organized that the removal and replacement went quickly and smoothly. The work itself is fantastic- and that's not always easy during a remodel. They showed up on time and were professional and tidy.
