**Q: Help! New paint colour needed!** *(in Design Dilemma)*

This is my parents room. My mom is in love with this quilt she bought a short while ago but doesn't like the drabness of the beige wall paint. She definitely doesn't want the wall blue. Is there any other colour that might work on these walls that could bring some life to the room?

A: Love the quilt so I think something really cheery and fun, like Maple Gold or some warm yellow.

**Q: Living Room Layout ... please help me with a better layout!** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I am struggling as to how to lay out my living room.    I have attached a diagram with the dimensions of the space for those experts who can help ... along with a photo of how it is today (just one long couch 89", a leather ottoman in front of it, and then a leather chair in the corner.   I am shopping for all new furniture, rugs, etc. - so any ideas for layout, more setting, better everything would be so much appreciated!!   This is our family room and we have a 4-year old that likes to watch movies, so I do want something for her to lay on that faces the tv.    Also, the open space to the left is kind of our walk through to either the sunroom or to the piano room which leads to the kitchen.  THanks in advance

A: I'd say the organizing of the furniture is great, what I think would help in opening up the space a bit is changing the colors on the walls, perhaps an accent wall around the white built in bookshelves, a charcoal or chocolate, and an off white like a toupe on the other walls, just something to think about here is what I had in mind for your
