Not so much from the back of the house (construction). Granite Homes is just another stick builder. They are IMO no better or worse than many other builders based on experience. The trades they use are inconsistent with their work on base units that are supposedly identical. Makes you wonder who from Granite Homes is reviewing the work to ensure consistency. Imagine having to go in the basement to clean your secondary clothes dryer lint trap. One would think that such an oversight would have been detected prior to construction. The whole dryer venting was a disaster despite Granite Homes trying to fix after the fact. Too little too late. Upper management is receptive but there is only so much they can do. Ultimately, you as a perspective buyer must do your own due diligence and act accordingly. **★ — HU-29251538, Sept. 2025** > Although, the overall build and construction was good. It’s the lack of communication, transparency and unwillingness to take accountability that earns them this one star. Our lot was advertised as 166’-177’ extra deep lot. We paid a huge premium for this. We discovered after purchase and after move in (after the huge mound of dirt was finally removed from the backyard and the grading and markers were placed that our “usable” backyard was 30% less than advertised. We lost over 30 feet of our backyard into the ravine, which we cannot use. They don’t disclose that we are actually only getting closer to 130’. I have tried to resolve this with their upper management but they refuse to take accountability on the lack of transparency and communication and false advertisement. They will not refund me the proportion of my lot premium which I am losing. I have no recourse but to take legal action. If you go with these builders get all info upfront and ask questions. Don’t trust them or assume they will tell you everything willingly. Buyer beware! **★ — robertopscorcia7, July 2025** > We’ve been in our newly built Granite Homes house for 7 months, and the experience has been nothing short of frustrating and disappointing. > > Within the first few months, we noticed serious cracking in the structural wood posts at the front of our home. These aren’t decorative — they’re load-bearing. Despite clear signs of worsening damage, the builder refuses to investigate, simply citing general guidelines to avoid taking any responsibility. > Even more concerning, we’ve now discovered water leaking into our basement, with insulation that is saturated with moisture. For a brand-new home, this is completely unacceptable. > > I would expect a builder — especially one marketing homes at this price point — to stand behind their product in a reasonable way. Instead, the customer service has been evasive, dismissive, and borderline indifferent. Frankly, I’d expect better post-sale support from a dollar store than what we’ve received here. > > Regardless of what warranty they say they provide, it’s clear they’re actively looking for ways to weasel out of coverage, leaving homeowners with the sense they’ve effectively bought the home “as-is.” > If you’re considering a Granite Homes property, be very cautious. We're looking to install a fireplace where there currently isn't one and need a narrow model. A: This particular photo was taken with a wide angle lens, so the actual depth of the mantel and fireplace is actually deeper than it looks. The full depth is 21". If you haven't already, I'd recommend looking at electric fireplace models. They have come a long way in function and style, and require less room for installation - make sure you look at models from a fireplace and mantel retailer, as the quality, fit and finish will be far superior as compared to what you'd find at a big box store. **Q: Paint colour** *(in Photo Questions)* Hi there.
