He started in the construction business in 1976 as a laborer. During the next eight years, Ken worked with master carpenters, learning the homebuilding trade from the ground up. Ken and his wife Mary Sue were married in 1979. They have four children, two son-in-laws, a daughter in law and three grand children. In 1984, Ken, along with his dad and two brothers, started Grein Construction, Inc. GCI built custom homes, specializing in excavating, foundations, septic systems and water lines, framing, and interior finish. This experience allowed Ken to further develop his knowledge in all facets of building homes. In addition, GCI developed three residential communities in the north metro area. In 2004, after twenty solid years, GCI founding members wanted to pursue other business opportunities; therefore, GCI was dissolved. In 2004, Ken and Mary Sue started Grein Custom Homes with the vision to build quality residential housing in the north metro area at a fair price. GCH provides excellent service and products to our customers at a variety of locations and price ranges. Grein Custom Homes currently carries building licenses and insurance covering most of the north metro area.
