My wife and I recently bought a house and unfortunately made a mistake with a different floor refinishing contractor that we hired to refinish the oak hardwood floors. The other company sanded waves into the floor and used a cheap horrible finish which smelled awful. We knew immediately that we needed to correct this mistake before we could move into the house. This is where Tom & Peter Flooring came into the picture. After talking with Tom on the phone, he stopped over the next day to look at the floor, and he knew immediately what needed to be done to fix it. He explained that his company uses a rotary orbital sander called the Lagler Trio as an additional step after the drum sander. This would get the floor perfectly flat and eliminate the waves from the previous company. He and his crew did an amazing job, and we love the flat beautiful floor. In addition, Tom was dependable and communicated well, and is an all-around nice guy. From start to finish they did everything promised, including moving furniture out and in, and installing quality felt pads on all pieces. They were easy to work with, respectful of our home during the installation, and cleaned up regularly. The two installers, Kamil and Mario, could not have been nicer or more helpful. The finished floors are absolutely beautiful! We also asked Tom to install new baseboards, which had to be painted after installation along with the new stair risers. He arranged an excellent contractor to do this work and the quality (and coordination) of the job could not have been better. They didn't get one speck of paint on the new floors and were so careful there was minimal need for touch up (walls, etc.). For part two, we had T&P come in recently to finish our kitchen floors after our kitchen remodel and finish our dining room, which suffered some minor damage during our reconstruction. Again, Tom’s team was super efficient and professional and it took them only two days. T&P was not the lowest bid we had, but not the highest and we would recommend them to anyone needing refinishing of floors.
