About Me:
Growing up in a large family where the kitchen was “party central,” with a mom who enjoyed being the head chef, many of my favorite memories have my childhood kitchen as their backdrop. Having married my very own household chef, and now with kids of our own underfoot, the kitchen is once again the hub of my family’s busy life. These special spaces, and the numerous others I’ve helped clients with over the years, all fuel my passion to help others create their very own “heart of the home.”

I make it a priority to put all of my efforts into completing the kitchen of your dreams and providing you the best experience, all while creating a lasting friendship. If I’ve done my job right, your design process will be the first of many great memories centered in your brand new kitchen.

> We could not have been happier with the experience and results from Tina and Maine Coast Homes. From the first time we met Tina, we were sold. Tina was with us every step of the way. She was always willing to offer her expertise and opinions to help create our dream kitchen. Her responses were always timely and informative. We never felt like we were a burden after the many questions we asked! The install crew was detailed, efficient and professional. Again, we can't say enough about the entire process and especially the end results! We would not hesitate to recommend Maine Coast Homes to anyone!

**★★★★★ — M Silco, May 2021**

> With our growing family, a kitchen remodel was much needed. We heard about Tina, Erik and her team from a friend and never looked back. Consistent, timely, professional and such a joy to work with. Always made sure our project fit what our family needed while adding a unique flare. We can’t wait for our next project!

> We had been wanting to get new countertops for a couple of years and had looked around till someone on Facebook recommended Maine Coast Homes, so we decided to give Tina a call. And we were so glad we did! The whole process of picking out our countertops to install was exceptional. Tina and her team were excellent. We are very happy with our new quartz countertops and would highly recommend them.

**Comment from Maine Coast Homes:**

> Tina and Maine Coastal Design team were supportive and enthusiastic throughout our process. We felt very comfortable working with them. We appreciated the designers' expertise and obvious attention to every detail. The customer service regarding deadlines, prompt replies, and follow up was excellent and much appreciated. The final end result is a work of art - we love it!

> Maine Coast Kitchen Design transformed our out of date kitchen into a true showpiece of our home. Everyday that I enter this room, I cannnot believe how amazing it has become. In addition to the kitchen, Tina and her team also updated our master bathroom. MCKD made the entire experience easy from design to construction. Would highly recommend to anybody looking to renovate any space in their house!!

**★ — Stefanie Manning, Jan. 2019**

> We hired Maine Coast Kitchen Design for our complete kitchen renovation. The cabinets are well-made and the countertops are gorgeous but neither of those things compensates for the awful experience we had. After getting our signatures and deposit, lack of communication was paramount to our project and at each step, getting paid was the leading priority. For a firm that believes customer experience is everything, they failed from the minute we signed the contract. Tina is fortunately surrounded by skilled craftspeople who delivered on the product. The services included a floorplan, custom cabinets, and countertops. The kitchen layout was done by a freelance architect (who was talented and lovely to work with) but all other design details were left for me to figure out with no support. We hired a GC to do the renovation and they did a good job based on the provided remodel plan and product installation with little/no help from Maine Coast Kitchen Design. We were expected to work with MCKD's timeline with little consideration for or coordination with our GC. We had to pay for all product in full before we even got to see it. There were problems with several of the cabinets upon delivery (ie. wrong placement of shelves and chipped wood) and it was an argument to get replacements. The sink cabinet that we paid to accommodate a farmhouse sink was not cut properly despite us needing to deliver the sink to their workshop weeks in advance. My GC had to work a solution to make the sink sit properly and while it looks good, it's not what I thought I was paying for. This was not at all the experience I had hoped it would be and I wouldn't recommend them at all. Total disappointment.

**★★ — Karen Carew, Sept. 2018**

> I find it very hard to leave reviews that are less than stellar, but I think I owe it to the Houzz community to share our experience.
> In August 2017 we contracted with Maine Coast Kitchen to design our kitchen and bathrooms for our oceanfront rebuild. Unfortunately this was one of those projects that seemed to be doomed from the outset.
> As we reflect on the scope of the entire project, the kitchen design was by far the most frustrating part of the whole process.
> After working with Tina in the sales process, we really enjoyed working with our initial designer Sarah who unfortunately left abruptly. We did not realize that Sarah was the only designer on staff. Tina worked hard to allow us access to work directly with the designer for the cabinet manufacturer. She thankfully was very helpful but unable to provide the truly personal one on one direction that we enjoyed with Sarah and expected as part of our engagement.
> Although the process and communication was less personal than we expected, we loved the final kitchen design and the quality of the cabinets.
> We chose a beautiful quartzite product for our countertops and were duly warned by Tina and the distributor that it was a difficult stone to work with. However the installation of the countertops was where we were most disappointed. The rough edges, seaming and caulking were far short of a high end installation. After consultations with our builder and interior designer, we felt that the finished product was far worse than challenges related to the stone itself. We shared these concerns with Tina but unfortunately the customer service follow through was non existent. After spending more than 75K on our project, we would have expected that our concerns warranted a personal conversation and a visit to inspect the installation, but she was not willing to make that effort for some reason.
> We requested that she see the finished product on multiple occasions but she never came to see it.
> As a result, we were forced to engage with a terrific fabricator who was able to fix all of the problem areas to make the finish safe and beautiful but as an additional cost of $2000. We truly do not understand why we had to go to this extra step and incur this added cost.
> As a small business owner, we would have hoped that she would have been fully invested in our satisfaction, the success of our project and the quality of her team's work. Unfortunately MCKD fell disappointingly short of this.

**★★★★★ — James Moshier, Sept. 2018**

> Stunning! Amazing attention to detail. Always available to answer any questions. Highly recommend, not only for kitchen builds but also as GC to entire project/home.

**Comment from Maine Coast Homes:**

> Thank you Jim! It was an absolute pleasure of myself and our crew to help you and yours.

**★★★★★ — Leo Bourgeault, Jan. 2018**

> Excellent Job, cabinets were in when promised, excellent quality as commented by our finish carpenter and look great with a light over dark color contrast. We would highly recommend Tina and her team!!!

**Comment from Maine Coast Homes:**

> Thank you Leo! It was a privilege helping you & yours....

## Community Q&A

**Q: I love the tile above the stove! Can you tell me where I can find it?** *(in Photo Questions)*

The tile is beautiful and subtle! Would love to find it!

A: We are not interior designers, this client would have worked directly with Distinctive Tile or through an interior designer they hired. If I knew, I would share! It's lovely.

**Q: what is the countertop stone and the backsplash tile** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: Hi there! Please email me your inquiry at tina@mainecoastkitchen.com, thank you much for your interest....
Happy Holidays,
Tina

**Q: How big are the slabs, and how well do the joints come together?** *(in Photo Questions)*

Love this product, can you tell me how big the slabs are

A: They come in small and jumbo sizes, however, where this is man made, slab sizes do vary and carry a longer lead time due to the rarity of the pieces. The joints come together lovely... much due to the stone, much due to our craftsmen! :) Thank you for writing! Feel free to email me directly for more at tina@mainecoastkitchen.com

**Q: Can you tell me where the cabinet knobs are from?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: Thank you for your interest -- you can find these at Handle It on Forest Ave in Portland, Maine. Feel free to email me at tina@mainecoastkitchen.com with anything more you may want/need. Happy to help. Cheers!

**Q: What is the color of the cabinets?** *(in Photo Questions)*

I love the color of the cabinets. Beautiful kitchen.

A: They are a standard paint color (white) in our cabinet line, thank you for your feedback -- I love this space as well! Feel free to email me with further inquiries at tina@mainecoastkitchen.com ~ Happy New Year!

**Q: Demensions and colors** *(in Photo Questions)*

This kitchen is beautiful! Could you tell me the dimensions for each island? Could you also share the granite and paint colors for them? Thank you!

A: Verde Bamboo is the granite you see on the 2 smaller working islands, and Skyros is the Marble for the larger center island. Thank you for your inquiry & interest! Any more, feel free to email me at tina@mainecoastkitchen.com
