> We have redone a number of Kitchens over the last 25 years, but nothing compares to our recent incredible experience with Spyglass Design. Bill Noval has a wonderful disposition in making his clients extremely comfortable when establishing and refining the goals of the overall project. He is a seasoned professional with an in depth ability to listen, really up on the latest trends, makes excellent and exciting recommendations and has a great team ( Jason Pusey and Bruce Timbie) to execute on the vision. Bill’s significant prior architectural experience was a tremendous bonus for our project which involved removing walls and opening up and utilizing multiple rooms to create our dream Kitchen environment. Bill also matched an excellent contractor from his list of relationships, to our project ,which made the entire process seamless in regard to communication and execution between Spyglass Design and the Contractor’s team. The impressive final result of our spectacular Spyglass custom kitchen proves the value of that coordination. What a pleasure and rewarding experience to work with Spyglass Design. We highly recommend SpyGlass Design to anyone who really wants to make their dream Kitchen come true!

**★★★★★ — Kitty Lou Phillips, Aug. 2017**

> We were so pleased and impressed with the quality work of Spyglass Design. Bill Noval is a true professional who listened to our ideas, shared recommendations, and shaped our dream kitchen into a reality. His creative vision and attention to detail merits recognition. The architectural guidance and precise layout resulted in a spectacular utilization of space. Our confidence and trust in the Spyglass team (Bill Noval, Jason Pusey, and Bruce Timbie) rewarded us with a customized renovated home. They have mastered the perfect recipe for function and style. We highly recommend Spyglass Design!

**★★★★★ — Don Timbie, July 2017**

> Spyglass Design did a remarkable job in providing guidance for the kitchen needs and blending the design to match/fit the house. The black granite counter top was to be kept, and the measurements and fixtures were so accurate that the fitting was better than when the counter was originally installed. The Christiana cabinets that were recommended are really good, and the finishes are best that I could ever expect. Every person was of the highest professional quality - Jason Pusey of Spyglass, and the GC Bill Kunkel brought in the best of people to leave the house in their hands.

**★★★★★ — Dennis Shorthouse, July 2017**

> \- Integrated design that ended up perfect

> \- Easy to deal with

> I would recommend them to any of my friends and family.

**★★★★★ — Barbara Click, June 2017**

> This is my SECOND kitchen created by Spy Glass Inc. I loved my first one so much that I had to have another after a move! Bill has a knack of 'getting into my head' by designing exactly what I wanted. Spy Glass attention to EVERY detail made for 'no surprises ' ( Bill is a trained architect who loves to cook...and it shows up in a kitchen design that flows naturally for the cook). I had 2 different friends make the same comment 15 years apart when they saw the quality of the cabinets " this looks like furniture, NOT cabinets".
> After seeing the plans, my contractor commented that Bill's balanced use of space show his love of what he does so well.
> Spy Glass is the kind of business that makes working with them a pleasure.. they aim to please and do the best job possible.
> Hopefully this is my last kitchen, as we lived through the installation... it IT WAS WORTH IT!

**★★★★★ — Liana Ottaviani, April 2017**

> The best decision we made when building our home? Hiring Spyglass Design and working with Bill and Jason. From the first meeting, Bill took time to learn about us, our needs and our aesthetic. He worked with us to create a gorgeous and functional space, and was sensitive to our budget and timeline.
>
> I am an avid home cook and baker and love to entertain. He designed a long counter space which invited guests to sit with me while I cooked and prepped, but kept everyone out from underfoot! The first time I had people over, and was holding court alone in my kitchen with everyone hanging on the other side of the counter... it was a beautiful thing. He even incorporated shelves into the design to display my collection of cookbooks and cooking antiques. The kitchen is the star feature of my living space.
>
> We also had the pleasure of working with Jason. He is incredibly efficient and knowledgeable. All of the vendors Bill recommended were excellent. They did quality work and were extremely professional.
>
> We moved into our house at the end of 2016, and I have been cooking and baking up a storm ever since. I never want to leave this kitchen behind, but if I have to, you can bet I will be calling SDI to build the next one.

**★★★★★ — Morgan Atelier Architecture, LLC., Sept. 2014**

> We have worked on numerous projects over the past fifteen years with Bill and Spyglass Design and thoroughly enjoy each collaborative effort. Bill was trained as an architect and therefore is sensitive to the bigger picture and palette selections. He amplifies the success of each project that we have worked on together. I go to him as a trusted resource for anything to do with kitchens. He is exceptionally creative and an admired colleague.

**★★★★★ — numor, Aug. 2014**

> A true pleasure to work with.
> Wants to please clients.
> Gets excited about your project.
> Down to earth.
> Creative.
> Helpful and open to your ideas.
> Currently working on several projects with Spyglass.

**★★★★ — Shawn Barbour, July 2014**

> We completely re-did our kitchen with the help of Spyglass Design. Their assistance was necessary without being pushy. They were completely respectful of our desires and vision and that produced the kitchen we love.

  - Description: This is a kitchen vignette in the Fretz showroom--the Philadelphia to Maryland distributor of Subzero/Wolf/Asko/Best appliances. The theme is "Urban Loft Design" Our idea was to make one larger space that would do double-duty for both functions, rather than 2 separate spaces for the 2 uses. We also wanted to show a modernist way of integrated the uses, and appliances for each, in an unexpected way, giving a bit of luxury to both functions of a household. Once again: Built To Last!

## Community Q&A

**Q: is that sink soapstone?** *(in Photo Questions)*

is the sink in this photo made of soapstone?

A: Yes, this is a Soapstone sink. Made by Bucks County Soapstone in Pennsylvania.

**Q: Cabinets? What is the wood?** *(in Photo Questions)*

What is the wood used, and are these custom fabricated?

A: This is Black walnut, character grade. Full thickness lumber, not veneer. Thanks for asking!

**Q: countertop material** *(in Photo Questions)*

Hi. Can you tell us the countertop material. Thx

A: Yes, it’s centered on the range. Very subtle, and well crafted. Kudos to the fabricator.
Thanks again for taking interest in our project and images. I’m happy to help if needed. Bill Noval.

**Q: Cabinets** *(in Photo Questions)*

Could you please provide the name of the wood and stain used in the counters? Really appreciate the rustic feel of this kitchen. Well done!

A: Thanks for reaching out, appreciating our work. The cabinets are "character grade" walnut---solid, not veneer. The stain color was we mixed to our liking. The counters are Soapstone, a special version that is more black, than green. Our clients' preference is to oil the soapstone only occasionally, allowing it evaporate quite between treatments. Let us know if we can help in you project!

**Q: Wood Grain** *(in Photo Questions)*

Is the wood grain laminate Gryphon Fir? Thanks.

A: Thanks for contacting us here at Spyglass, Rebecca. I see you are Neff Dealers. This is door \#37, finish \#EW36 Gryphon Fir, horizontal grain Open Texture laminate. we didn't grain match, although it looks that was at some parts of the kitchen. Good luck to you!

**Q: Flooring?** *(in Photo Questions)*

What flooring product is used in this photo?

A: This is a wood-style porcelain tile. Don't know the name, but it came from A Step In Stone in Hopewell, NJ. Contact Darlene there.
