### Reviews

**★★★★★ — Sue Luke, May 2020**

> I had a issue with the floor in my walkout basement kitchen. I had a handyman look at it and he said it was a bigger project than he could do and that I needed a contractor. He recommended Castle. I happened to know a former employee and she told me that they were trust worthy and very good. The designers I worked with were very good and helpful. The subcontractors used (plumber, painters, etc) were all very good and professional. We are very pleased with the final results.

**Comment from Castle Building & Remodeling:**

> Thanks for your review Sue! We look forward to working with you again in the future.

**★★★★★ — Judy and Miles Renaas, Dec. 2018**

> Excellent design with great functionality. Expert craftsmen. Project management was timely and met expected completion date. Effective communication from all team members. Are again using Castle for a new renovation in 2019. Extremely happy with the process and outcome!

**Comment from Castle Building & Remodeling:**

> Thanks for your review! We're excited to work with you again!

**★★★★★ — Brian Woods, Dec. 2018**

> We felt completely comfortable with Castle from start to finish. Great process. Great design ideas & suggestions from our designer, while incorporating our own ideas. On time & on budget!

**Comment from Castle Building & Remodeling:**

> Thanks, Brian! We enjoyed remodeling your kitchen and appreciate you being on our home tour! Thanks for the review!

**★★★★★ — H Lange, Dec. 2018**

> I was very satisfied with the work completed in my house. Travis did a great job managing all that was needed to be done and the arrival of all the tradesmen. Everyone did a great job.

**★★★★★ — Anne O, Dec. 2018**

> This is the second time I've worked with Castle Building & Remodeling and I can't recommend them more highly. Two years ago they did a major renovation to my kitchen which still looks great, and this summer they did a lovely refresh of my front porch. They were easy to work with, timely, and professional throughout the construction process, as well as afterward. Two thumbs up!

**★★★★★ — Patrick Timmins, Dec. 2018**

> I cannot tell you how important it is to choose a professional builder like Castle for your project. One that will do the right thing and take care of you when you encounter problems. And with any project of this magnitude you will encounter problems. If you don't you are the luckiest person alive. We had a series of very bad luck items occur that certainly were not the fault of Castle but at every turn they made it right.
>
> Preliminary Estimates: When other builders wouldn't give us the time of day, because or project was bigger than our budget Castle worked with us to figure out a way that we could do it. We ended up doing some of the demo, painting, trim work and tile work and other finish work. This really means Castle had to do extra administrative work to make this work. Not every builder will do it. They have to schedule homeowner work into the calendar just like a regular contractor. We really appreciated that Loren (the co-owner) and Amanda (Designer) came out and talked us through our project options on the first visit. They were able to give us some options and ball park figures based on other projects after just a few days.
>
> Design: We then spent a couple months working through the design and budget. Amanda was fantastic. We had really thought about this project for years so we had some good ideas to start with but Amanda created a kitchen configuration that we hadn't even considered which we now love. She also came up with the fantastic Idea of double 6 foot sliders looking out the back of our properly. Way cheaper than a massive foldout door you see on home shows. There are just so many details you don't think about but Amanda had them all covered.
>
> Build: We were difficult customers. We are picky and we made a lot of changes. We also had some bad luck incidents. Steve our project manager was great. He rolled with the punches and we came to compromises and agreements on every issue. Of course we were stressed because we were living in our basement for three months but none of that stress came from Castle. The Castle carpenters were all super friendly and did really solid work. The plumbing, HVAC, and electrical contractors were all top notch. They even recommend a metal company to fabricate our steel stair railing who we worked with outside the main project. Really they did everything they could to make this project work within our budget. ( except for our additional change orders which were all reasonable priced) Finally, the project was done on time.
>
> Finished Product: We absolutely love the finished product. We couldn't be happier and we can now stay in our house for as long as we live. We have had several parties since the remodel and everyone loves it. I have a hard time leaving for work every day since I really just want to sip coffee in our kitchen, while leaning over our beautiful Cambria counter tops and look out the big sliding doors and window into our backyard.
>
> Thank you Castle!

**Comment from Castle Building & Remodeling:**

> Thank you for this review, Patrick! We enjoyed working with you on this project and are so happy you love the finished product!

**★★★★★ — Linda Fleming, Nov. 2018**

> We were so pleased with the work Castle did remodeling our first floor in 2016, that we contacted them for our unfinished basement remodeling project. Mark, our designer, spent a lot of time with us on the design, answering lots of questions, and helping us to use the space effectively, We were able to get a family room, laundry room, half bath, a large shop area, and plenty of storage.
>
> Castle was great to work with from start to finish. Both projects were completed on time, with excellent quality. Their project management staff were responsive to any concerns or changes we had during the project and we are very pleased with the results. I would definitely contact Castle again if we had future remodeling projects!

**Comment from Castle Building & Remodeling:**

> Thanks for the kind words, Linda! It was a pleasure working with you and we are DELIGHTED to hear how much you love your new space!

**★★★★★ — K Martin, April 2018**

> We recommend Castle! Love our Family Room remodel. It was completed in a timely manner, with excellent communication and customer service!

**★★★★★ — Andrew Johnson, Jan. 2018**

> Castle was great to work with. The design turned out well, and they were very responsive when I had questions or changed my mind regarding the design. For the construction, they did some of the work, and I did other parts, and they were great about answering my questions about things I had never done before (like tiling). Very nice people, and very good workers.

**Comment from Castle Building & Remodeling:**

> Thank you so much for your review! We're so happy you're pleased! It was wonderful working with you!

**★★★★★ — David Dahl, Dec. 2017**

> Castle did our kitchen remodeling. From start to finish they were always courteous and very tidy. It was the first construction project (out of 6 major projects) that we did not have any problems or disappointments. They may cost slightly higher than others, but so well worth it.

**Comment from Castle Building & Remodeling:**

> Thanks for your review, David! We really appreciate it and it was a pleasure working with you!

**★★★★★ — Robert Downing, Nov. 2017**

> We had a very positive experience with Castle Builders. From the initial meeting with Mark to the final punch list with Dave, everything went pretty much as planned. We were given a schedule of what was likely to happen and when, and with one small exception, the project proceeded as planned. The one small exception was a flip in when the painting occurred with trim work. Which did not change the timeline. The final remodel is more than what we had hoped for and is stunningly beautiful! The professionalism exhibited by everyone involved was superb. And all of the trades people were exceptionally friendly and courteous and everyone cleaned up after their days work was done. We would highly recommend Castle Builders.

**★★★★★ — M Rowan, Nov. 2017**

> Excellent work done in a timely manner. I appreciated the quick responses I received to my questions. The crew was professional and did a good job cleaning up debris, etc.

 - Description: Homeowners in Richfield came to Castle looking to update their 1956 Kitchen in their ranch style home. The goal was to keep the same U-Shaped footprint of the kitchen while maximizing the cabinet layout configuration. The overall transformation is stunning. One major adjustment was installing the upper cabinets to the ceiling. This draws your eyes up and gives the room a larger feel with the added storage that was previously nonexistent. The old floor plan was not functional and did not utilize the space to its full capacity. The house also did not have a bathroom on the main floor, and because there was ample space for a large kitchen, eat in area and some leftover, a powder room was also added. Attention to traditional details like ribbed glass, marble accents and custom baseboards to match the rest of t…

 - Description: This modern home, near Cedar Lake, built in 1900, was originally a corner store. A massive conversion transformed the home into a spacious, multi-level residence in the 1990’s. However, the home’s lot was unusually steep and overgrown with vegetation. In addition, there were concerns about soil erosion and water intrusion to the house. The homeowners wanted to resolve these issues and create a much more useable outdoor area for family and pets. Castle, in conjunction with Field Outdoor Spaces, d…

 - Description: Built in 1926, this Arts & Craft home had all the features associated with that traditional architectural style. Staying true to the era while, introducing some elements that complemented, yet modernized, the finishes was the ultimate goal of the remodel. A smaller kitchen, remodeled about 20 years earlier was cut off from the dining and living room spaces. The dining room seemed small and cramped. A front porch, running the full width of the house, was underutilized, and the main floor bathroom…

## Community Q&A

**Q: Hi, love the floor** *(in Photo Questions)*

What is the floor tile?

A: Hello! It’s a Luxury Vinyl Tile (LVT) from Adura Mannington. The color is Maiden's Veil from their Athena line. 12x24. If you're in the Minneapolis area, feel free to make an appt to come into a show room and see all our flooring options!

**Q: What colour of Marmoleum did you use?** *(in Photo Questions)*

What is the colour name of the Marmoleum?

A: Hi there.
In accordance to the scope of work for this project, it reads as:
"Color and Model\#: Eiger \#2629"
I hope that is useful information for you!

**Q: what is the size of this bathroom?** *(in Photo Questions)*

what is the size of this bathroom? I do like the layout but the tilt shift lens makes it look small.

A: Hi Mike- good question! We're not sure how big this bathroom is because it's not a remodel we did, but rather a stock photo from Kohler.

**Q: what paint color is on the walls?** *(in Photo Questions)*

I love the blue paint. What color is that?

A: Great question! This is one of those projects where the homeowner did the painting themselves in order to cut costs, so we weren't involved in buying the paint. Sorry, we don't know what they chose!

**Q: Are the cabinets custom or can I order them?** *(in Photo Questions)*

I really like the color and style of the cabinets. Where are they from? Thanks.

A: Hi Lisa. This project used Chelsea Custom Cabinets from Bayer Interior Woods. http://bayerinteriorwoods.com/chelsea/

**Q: What kind of flooring is this?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: This project used cork flooring.
