> Wonderful experience! Totally service oriented and a breeze to work with!! I can’t wait to get inspired on a future project!

**★★★★★ — HU-180515732, Feb. 2021**

> Ginger has a great eye for detail, I consider myself a detail person and she is so great to work with. She knows the products cleaning codes and the correlating fabrics that will work in any home. One of the things that stands out about Ginger is that she knows what it is like to make a home look great and also functional for your family.

**★★★★★ — Miller Waldrop Furniture, Feb. 2021**

> Ginger has worked with my staff on several projects. She is passionate about design and has a great eye. She is particular about her service and what she puts together for her clients. She loves coordinating furniture, and colors, and styles. Anyone would enjoy working with Ginger on a project and they would feel like they had an advocate for their project which is important sometimes.

**★★★★★ — Bedroom to Laundry Room Conversion, Feb. 2021**

> Ginger has a wealth of design knowledge and design acumen that helping me in making seemingly simple choices that I didn't realize were actually very complex. This helped save me time, money and energy and for that, I'm forever grateful.

**Comment from Ginger Ayn Interiors:**

> Thank you so much, my friend! We still need to name it! ;) If an office carved out of a closet is a "cloffice" what should we call your laundry+office?

**★★★★★ — The Master's Cabinet Shop, Feb. 2021**

> As a cabinet shop fabricator, we worked with Mrs Granath on this project. She was easy to work with and had very nice designs for use to work with.

  - Description: Some remodels stand the test of time. This one was in 2014, but still looks current in 2021, by keeping and enhancing the traditional features of the home -- beautiful original chandeliers, compound moldings and trim, and custom wainscoting. The original red oak hardwood floors were uncovered, patched, sanded and finished to perfection. This 1950's traditional antebellum style home teaches us that great style is timeless!

## Community Q&A

**Q: using the wall by staircase** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I'm looking for design ideas to expand our sitting room by utilizing the space by the staircase (8ft across). I'd love to get a chair in there somewhere. Excuse the boxes as we just moved in!

A: Yes, I agree with Partim too. The sofa on the stair wall and a sofa table behind the sofa is the way to go. And like Jantrader said, a sofa table behind the sofa allows a place for lighting, books, and decor.

**Q: guest room aka the giant world map room -how to work with it??** *(in Paint)*

We got a new house and the guest room (prior family’s child’s bedroom) has a giant world map on the wall.
We will use this as a guest bedroom or where I will sleep when my husband snores and I want to avoid smothering him 😂
we want to keep the map.
I personally hate bright colours - the rest of the house is entirely neutral, grey, white, beige, so instinct is to go neutral white walls (like photo with passport stamps)but I also feel that makes the mural pop even more. We can all agree the current blue is a hard no though!
I want this room to feel serene and inspiring (I love the travel inspiration…just loathe the colours)
….so, what wall colours will offer the serene feel while still working with the massive map??

A: The fact that there’s a sliver of wall at the top of the map and not the bottom is what feels wrong and off-balance. If you’re up for reframing it, run the molding-frame all the way up to the ceiling and fill in the top with some flags, stamps, or similar. Then at least it would be balanced top-to-bottom. I like the idea of the map as a headboard. Put you headboard-less bed right up against it. Then go with everything else travel-related on the other walls. The map is a great jumping off point, but it’s bold so you need to go bold everywhere. It’ll look great! Check out Portland designer Max Humphrey’s page for inspiration. He used maps all the time and has great success mixing patterns and textures. https://www.maxhumphrey.com
